An ultra-lightweight folding knife from the Slim series, featuring a 10 cm locking blade. This piece is a timeless classic from a renowned French manufacturer with a legacy spanning over a century.

The Trailing Point blade is crafted from Sandvik 12C27M stainless steel and finished with a high-gloss polish. The flat full grind approaches a zero grind, optimizing cutting performance with its minimal thickness. Exceptionally well-suited for filleting tasks.

A nail nick on the blade allows for easy opening, reminiscent of Victorinox pocket knife designs. Once deployed, the blade is secured by the patented Viroblock lock introduced in 1955 -- a steel ring fitted at the pivot of the handle. Upon opening, rotating the ring a few degrees covers the blade slot in the handle, firmly locking the blade in place. The same mechanism safeguards against unintended opening when folded.

The handle is constructed from Beechwood, finished with a transparent, abrasion-resistant varnish. Its ergonomic design guarantees a comfortable and stable grip. The handle’s structure also lends itself to customization, such as drilling a lanyard hole at the back for enhanced safety, carving, texturing, or staining to suit individual preferences.

Opinel

Militaria.pl is a premium dealer of Opinel.

Opinel is a French knife brand whose history dates back to 1890 in Savoy. The founder, Joseph Opinel, created the first folding knife, No. 08, which quickly became a symbol of everyday use thanks to its simplicity and functionality. In 1955, the Virobloc locking system was introduced, later modernized, which is still the hallmark of the brand today. In 1985, Opinel was recognized by the Victoria and Albert Museum as one of the 100 best-designed objects in the world, and the brand's knives also found their way into the MoMA collection in New York. Production takes place in Chambery, with an emphasis on quality and ecology - the wood comes from French forests and the waste is used to heat the factory. Among the famous users was Pablo Picasso, who used Opinel for carving, and the knives themselves have become a symbol of simplicity, durability, and the French lifestyle.

I think this is an excellent version of Opinel, especially since the handle doesn't swell like the beech one. In the kitchen, it cuts perfectly, of course, only the small things, not bones, but I'm satisfied and recommend it.

Very long and very slim. The wooden handle seems to dominate the blade. A very practical model, not small but light. The blade geometry makes it a handy scalpel. The blade is a bit too thin for my taste, but that was probably the designer's intention. It cuts very well and precisely. You won't cut down trees with it, but you can do everything else very well. The only downside – the locking ring is a bit tight to move. I recommend it, especially if you haven't held one yet and are wondering. After modifying the handle – profiling and color – it looks very impressive.

Beauty lies in simplicity, everything fits perfectly, the knife is sharp and simply beautiful, the next one will be Carbon no.8

The knife is great. Extremely sharp and very handy. Unfortunately, this sharpness is also its downside - I have already cut myself several times just by touching both the blade and its tip. Without any special pressure. Its downside is the blade locking system by twisting the ring. The ring has a completely smooth surface, is very tightly fitted, and I have very dry skin on my fingers. In summary - it's only convenient for me to turn the ring while wearing gloves. So the knife will go into the display case.

Super! I recommend this version of Opinel. It's not as sharp as the carbon versions but, on the other hand, it isn't susceptible to corrosion :)

When we hear the name Opinel, it's obvious it will be sharp, and that's the case here: solid, sharp, ideal for slicing food, I recommend it.

I bought it mainly for use with food while camping, sailing, and fishing. Sharp and light. The blade is long, so you can cut bread, and its shape allows you to use its entire length. For heavier tasks, I recommend an Opinel with a classic blade.

I've never been disappointed with this brand. The knife fits perfectly in the hand, making work very pleasant and precise. Its sharpness and the steel's low susceptibility to different types of corrosion are big advantages. It's great for EDC, camping, or different household models—for this price, I won't find better quality. I recommend it to everyone.
