UCP (Universal Camouflage Pattern) represents a digital camo pattern introduced in the early 21st century to replace both US Woodland and Desert designs. Engineered for versatile concealment, it is effective across diverse terrains—forest, desert, and urban—through a mix of green and beige hues with gray accents. Modeled after the MARPAT layout, its pastel, low-contrast coloration forms a pixelated micro-pattern that offers excellent camouflage at close range and transitions into a smoother silhouette at distance. UCP demonstrated superior infrared concealment, which led to its adoption; however, it was ultimately succeeded by the OCP pattern derived from MultiCam.
