Real Steel Furrier Skinner Micarta Fixed Blade Knife - Red

Featuring an overall length of 175 mm, this knife is built with a Full Tang design, where the tang runs the entire length of the handle for enhanced strength. The 76 mm blade sports a Skinner shape and is crafted from high-grade N690 stainless steel. A flat grind ensures optimal cutting performance. The blade’s surface is treated with satinization for a matte finish. Red Micarta handle scales ensure a secure and comfortable grip. Renowned knifemaker Ivan D. Braginets is the designer behind this model.

Bohler N690 stainless steel

Forged from Bohler N690 stainless steel, the blade measures 95 mm in length, delivering outstanding durability as well as excellent wear and corrosion resistance. The steel has been hardened to a rating of 58-60 HRC.

A blade with a skinner profile, Full Tang construction

A blade with a Full Tang construction and a Skinner profile is engineered for optimal tip strength. Featuring a prominently curved belly, the profile offers excellent cutting performance and superior precision control for detailed tasks. Integrated jimping (serrations) provides a secure thumb placement, enhancing grip and blade control during use.

Equipped with a flat grind, the model offers enhanced resistance to damage. A satin finish delivers a matte, non-reflective appearance.

Ergonomic Micarta handle

Red Micarta handle scales offer a lightweight yet robust construction, providing superior resistance to moisture, fluctuations in temperature, and physical impact. Ergonomically shaped for comfort, the handle features a non-slip texture to guarantee a stable hold during use. A key element of the design is the finger ring, enhancing grip stability and preventing the hand from accidentally sliding onto the blade.

Leather sheath

Included in the set is a sturdy and durable leather sheath, ensuring secure attachment of the knife to a belt for safe transport.

N690 feature
N690
N690 is a high-quality stainless steel produced by the Austrian company Bohler Edelstahl, characterized by an excellent balance of functional properties. It is comparable to VG-10 steel, but offers even better parameters. It contains approximately 1% carbon, which ensures high hardness, and 17.3% chromium, which guarantees very good corrosion resistance. In addition, it contains cobalt (1.5%), molybdenum (1.1%) and vanadium (0.1%). After proper hardening, it achieves a hardness of 58-61 HRC, providing the right combination of strength, durability, and ease of sharpening. The steel is distinguished by its high corrosion resistance, even in difficult, humid conditions, and good resistance to dulling. N690 is used in the production of knives of various ranges, both lower and higher, offering very good value for money.
Satin feature
Satin
Satin finishing is one of the most popular blade finishes, achieved by grinding the steel with fine-grained abrasives. Parallel micro-scratches remain on the surface, giving the knife a technical, matte appearance. Satin finishing has both aesthetic and practical significance - a smoothed blade is easier to clean, and the slightly reduced friction promotes smoother cutting. Depending on the direction and intensity of polishing, different effects are achieved - from a matte finish to an almost mirror-like finish. Satin is valued in both utility and collector's knives because it emphasizes the structure and quality of the steel while maintaining functionality.
Micarta feature
Micarta
Micarta is a composite material made of layers of fabric (including canvas, linen, and paper) soaked in resin and pressed under high pressure and temperature. It is characterized by high mechanical strength, resistance to impact, abrasion, and changing weather conditions, as well as dimensional stability, which makes it ideal for knife handles. The surface of Micarta provides a secure grip and can be finished smooth or left with a slight texture to improve control over the tool. The material does not conduct heat or electricity, tolerates contact with moisture well, and acquires a characteristic patina over time, emphasizing the individual style of the knife. Thanks to its combination of durability, environmental resistance, and unique appearance, Micarta is widely used in EDC, outdoor, and collector's knives.
