Militaria.pl is a premium dealer of Salomon.
Salomon is a French brand founded in 1947 in Annecy, in the heart of the Alps, which has been associated with mountain and outdoor sports since its inception. The company started out manufacturing ski bindings, and today it is one of the most recognizable manufacturers of trekking footwear, clothing, and winter sports equipment. Ortholite is an insole with an advanced structure that provides effective moisture wicking and optimal air circulation. The flexible construction adapts to the foot's profile, and the antibacterial properties inhibit bacterial growth and odor formation.
Contagrip is a technology developed by Salomon, used in the construction of the outsole. It is based on the combination of a special rubber compound and tread profile, creating a flexible underside in order to achieve the most precise parameters for grip and stability on varied terrain. The sole comes in 5 versions, adapted to a specific type of surface.
SensiFit is a technology that uses a special upper design to provide the foot with better stability and protection. The side panel used, located from the midsole to the lacing system, allows the shoe to fit comfortably and precisely to the shape of the foot.
4D Advanced Chassis is an innovative technology used in the sole of the shoe, which is based on a special frame that works together with the midsole platform. It absorbs shocks from walking and, thanks to its flexible forefoot, transfers energy ergonomically, increasing the efficiency of each step. It supports the stability of the foot on uneven ground, and reduces leg fatigue during long hikes.
Energycell+ technology is an innovative way of constructing the midsole, based on the use of lightweight and flexible EVA foam with high energy rebound capability. Thanks to it, the energy that accumulates when the foot hits the ground is effectively used, providing better shock absorption and greater comfort.
The shoes are very comfortable for their weight, the tread performs very well, but there is a problem with the toe and sole coming apart. After a year of use, the shoes have also lost some color.
Comfortable shoes that provide good support. They perform well in mud. Unfortunately, after about 14 months, the sole came off. The shoes were sent in for a complaint. The quality of workmanship does not match the price.
I confirm all the negative opinions. The product costs a lot, but the quality is terribly poor. First, the rubber around the toes started coming off the leather with sporadic use. Secondly, in my opinion, they're not comfortable at all. It took me a few weeks to break them in enough to even be able to walk in them. There's some seam near the ankle on the inside that constantly rubs and causes pain during longer walks. Also, the material inside is hard, which makes the tongue uncomfortable. I don't know why this junk costs so much. It's not worth a single penny.
I have been using these shoes for almost half a year and they are very comfortable. At first, I had to break them in a bit, which fortunately I did during walks with my dog and not during longer trips. After that period, they became very comfortable. I use them almost every day for long walks, airsoft, and, as I mentioned, during outings with my dog – they offer great protection from moisture. I haven't had any problems with them, and recently I also bought the version with a higher upper, which I often wear due to frequent flooding in the area.
The shoes are very comfortable even during long marches with a load, offering good grip and stability. Unfortunately, a common problem with this model is the sole coming apart. After just a few months of regular use, the toe begins to detach from the leather, a gap appears along the side of the shoe, and in the heel area, the sole separates into individual layers. In some pairs, problems started even after 2 or 3 weeks of gentle use. For this price (1199), it doesn’t look too good, unless someone feels like regularly making claims about the shoes.
I used the previous version of the Salomon Quest and after the sole broke (my fault), I decided to buy these shoes again. Unfortunately, they turned out to be worse than the previous version. Above all, the sole is harder and more slippery, the sole comes off the shoe, a crack and a hole form where the sole joins the leather, and they get wet quite quickly.
After about 3 months, the rubber on the heel of the left shoe cracked, and after another month on the right one. The shoes make a strange noise with every step, which is very annoying. For this price (1199 PLN) these things shouldn't happen. I am satisfied with their use – I completed marches with a load of 25–30 km, and my feet weren't hurt. The shoes were used 6 days a week for 9–14 hours in mountain conditions.
The shoes soak through after 4 hours working in the field (wet grass) and there is detachment on the sole after 2 months of use. I do not recommend. I regret buying them. Buy others.
I don't know where the negative opinions come from – I have been using these shoes for 7 months, and I haven’t had better ones on my feet. True, the sole is soft and already the small protectors have worn from walking on asphalt, but they'll last for many years to come. Nothing has cracked, nothing has torn. I regularly clean and wash the inside and treat the leather with proper products, and I walk without complaints. Recently, 2 weeks in mud and water and nothing – dry feet. I highly recommend these shoes; proper care means they last for years.
These shoes are probably some of the best, a combination of sports and military shoes; summer, autumn, winter, sand, mud, snow, they handle it all. They have one downside, like most Salomon shoes: the sole and toe caps quickly detach from the shoe.
Probably the best shoes for treks of all types. A combination of sports and military shoes, comfortable, stable, good sole, they quickly adapt to your foot, you don't need to break them in for long. Summer, autumn, winter, snow, sand, mud, they handle it all. However, they have one drawback, like probably every Salomon model: elements of the shoe come off, like the sole or toe caps. It's a bit of a shame that for this kind of money, they didn't make the durability better, because they clearly break down too quickly and aren't durable enough.
Solid, armored, stable shoes. However, they are too hot for me, my feet are completely wet and slightly steamed after the whole day and it wasn't even hot outside.
In general, I recommend the shoes, I walked in the Tatra and Bieszczady mountains, I put them through some tough times and I appreciate that they didn’t chafe my feet, they are quite comfortable. One star down only because after these marches, the glue at the toe slightly came off, but it's minor and can be fixed. I recommend these shoes.
I strongly DO NOT recommend. After 2 weeks the shoes started to come apart at the rim protecting the toes. After repair at the manufacturer, they stayed in the closet for a while. A week ago I took them to work again – they didn’t last. They will go for a warranty claim again. Additionally, the leather fades quickly despite care and is very sensitive to mechanical damage. Until now I was a Salomon fan, unfortunately this pair broke my heart. 2 stars only for comfort.
Great shoes. Besides the fact that they are very stiff, when walking in the mountains your entire foot and ankle are so well protected that it probably can't get any better. After tying the laces, you get the impression the shoes are almost like concrete, and I don't mean the weight. They're simply made to protect your leg to the max. And now the best part, their tread. I've never had shoes that grip so well, even on ice. While others were slipping in similar types of shoes, I just walked along. These shoes have a tread like winter tires. I also bought them for their looks. They are simply awesome. After two years of wearing them, of course from November to March, so far nothing has happened. They're comfortable, especially for this type of shoe.
