Schrade Extreme Survival Fixed Blade Knife

A fixed-blade knife with a full-tang blade, designed for everyday carry (EDC) and outdoor use. It features a Drop-Point blade made of AUS-10 stainless steel with a titanium coating, and G10 laminate handle scales with a non-slip texture that ensures a secure grip. The set includes a thermally molded plastic sheath.

AUS-10 stainless steel

The Drop-Point blade is 161 mm long and 3.3 mm thick. It is made of AUS-10 stainless steel and finished with a black oxide coating. This steel is characterized by its long-lasting sharpness and high corrosion resistance. The blade features a deep hollow grind, which ensures excellent cutting performance. The blade is coated with a black, matte titanium coating that reduces glare and increases resistance to corrosion and minor mechanical damage.

Full Tang construction, ergonomic G10 grip

The knife's handle features a full-tang construction, which means that the steel tang runs the entire length of the blade, ensuring high strength and structural stability. The tang is wrapped in black G10 laminate reinforced with fiberglass, which is resistant to damage and moisture. The non-slip texture ensures a secure grip and good control over the knife even with wet or dirty hands. Additionally, the steel cross guard enhances safety by preventing the hand from sliding onto the blade.

Thermoformed sheath

The sheath included with the knife is made of a lightweight and durable thermoformed laminate. It features holes for threading a cord, and its design holds the knife securely in place, preventing it from accidentally falling out.

AUS-10 feature
AUS-10
AUS-10 is a high-quality stainless steel produced by the Japanese company Aichi Steel, considered one of the best in the AUS steel series, used mainly in mid-range and high-end utility knives, produced mainly in Japan and Taiwan. The carbon content (0.95-1.1%) ensures high hardness, while chromium (13-14.5%) guarantees very good corrosion and abrasion resistance. The steel also contains manganese (up to 1%), silicon (up to 1%), phosphorus (up to 0.025%), and sulfur (up to 0.025%), which affect hardenability, impact strength, elasticity, and machinability, improving structural stability and maintaining mechanical properties. After hardening, the steel achieves a hardness of 58-61 HRC, offering an excellent balance between strength, edge retention, and ease of sharpening. It is comparable to 440C steel, differing in carbon content and the addition of vanadium, which improves structural homogeneity and increases abrasion resistance.
Titanium feature
Titanium
Titanium is a lightweight, extremely durable metal widely used in knife manufacturing, especially in handles, locks, and structural elements. It is characterized by a very high strength-to-weight ratio and excellent corrosion resistance, even in contact with salt water. Titanium is slightly more difficult to machine than steel or aluminum, but it can be anodized to produce durable and attractive surfaces in a variety of colors. This material is also hypoallergenic, does not conduct heat as intensely as steel, and is not magnetized. Due to its strength, chemical resistance, and relatively low weight, titanium is used in tactical knives, EDC knives, and premium models designed for intensive use.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
