Schrade Kinetic Folding Knife - Black

A folding knife with a Drop-Point blade profile and a length of 75 mm, made of high-quality AUS-8 stainless steel. The blade is coated with Titanium Nitride. The handle features a Liner Lock mechanism and G10 laminate scales. The knife’s design allows for comfortable one-handed operation and maintains good control during both simple and more demanding tasks. Its slim, elongated design gives it a lightweight and dynamic character, facilitating precise blade control and comfortable everyday carry.

AUS-8 stainless steel

The knife blade is made of B AUS-8B stainless steel, which contains chromium, molybdenum, vanadium, and nickel, ensuring good corrosion resistance, good edge retention, and ease of sharpening.

Drop-point blade profile, Titanium Nitride coating

The blade features a Drop-Point profile, characterized by a sturdy tip, easy sharpening, and good cutting performance. The blade is 75 mm long and 2 mm thick. The blade has a hollow grind, which improves cutting performance and allows for clean, smooth cuts. The blade is coated with a titanium nitride coating that increases the blade’s resistance to abrasion, corrosion, and scratches.

G10 laminate handle scales

The scales of the ergonomically contoured handle are made of black G10 laminate, which is resistant to mechanical damage and external factors.

Liner lock mechanism, flipper

The knife is opened using a flipper, which allows for quick one-handed deployment. In the open position, the flipper acts as a small cross guard that effectively prevents the hand from slipping onto the blade. The opening process has been streamlined through the use of the Ultra-Glide opening assist system, which is based on ball bearings.

Blade stabilization is provided by the Liner Lock, which secures the blade in the open position and prevents it from accidentally closing. The mechanism’s design ensures reliable operation and comfortable handling.

Spring steel clip

Comfortable everyday carry is ensured by a spring-loaded steel clip in the tip-down position, which allows the knife to be easily attached to a belt or the edge of a pocket. The clip is mounted on the right side.

AUS-8 feature
AUS-8
AUS-8 is a Japanese stainless steel, equivalent to 440B steel, characterized by a good balance between corrosion resistance, ease of sharpening, and edge retention. The carbon content (0.7-0.75%) affects the hardness of the steel, while chromium (13-14.5%) provides very good corrosion and abrasion resistance. Vanadium additives (up to 0.26%) improve the homogeneity of the steel's crystal structure and increase the blade's resistance to abrasion. The steel also contains molybdenum (0.1-0.3%), manganese (0.5%), silicon (0.4-1%), and nickel (0.49%). After proper heat treatment, AUS-8 steel achieves a hardness of 58-60 HRC, making it a solid material with good cutting properties and durability. The steel is widely used in mid-range knives, mainly produced in Japan and Taiwan, such as the popular Ontario RAT 1.
System Ultra Glide feature
System Ultra Glide
Ultra-Glide system used in Schrade knives is a ball bearing-based opening mechanism designed to ensure smooth, light, and quick one-handed blade deployment. This solution minimizes the resistance of the mechanism, making the blade movement smooth, precise, and much more pleasant than in designs without bearings. Ultra-Glide significantly facilitates knife operation by reducing the effort required to open it, making it particularly practical in EDC knives.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
Titanium Nitride (TiNite) feature
Titanium Nitride (TiNite)

Titanium Nitride (TiN, TiNite, TiNi) is an exceptionally hard and chemically inert coating made of titanium and nitrogen, applied using PVD or CVD methods. It increases the blade's resistance to abrasion, corrosion, and scratches, reduces friction, and gives it an attractive metallic finish. PVD technology is most commonly used in knives, as it does not affect the properties of the core, but only extends the durability of the surface.
