Schrade Leroy Fixed Blade Knife - Black

Full-Tang knife design with a fixed 24-centimeter clip-point blade made from high-quality AUS-10 stainless steel. The robust construction and full tang running through the entire handle deliver high strength and resistance to heavy loads, which is essential for fieldwork.

By using damage-resistant materials and precision craftsmanship, this model combines excellent cutting performance and outstanding durability. The long blade and substantial weight enable efficient cutting and working with greater force while maintaining good blade control.

high-quality AUS-10 stainless steel

The blade is made from premium-grade AUS-10 stainless steel. The carbon content ensures high hardness, while chromium guarantees outstanding corrosion and abrasion resistance. The steel also contains manganese, silicon, phosphorus, and sulfur, which contribute to hardenability, impact strength, resilience, and machinability, improving structural stability and maintaining mechanical properties.

clip-point blade, jimping, black oxide

This model features a robust clip-point blade with a length of 24 cm, making it easier to perform precise tasks and accurate cuts. The blade is coated with a Black Oxide finish, providing a matte appearance and effectively reducing light reflections. Jimping on the spine of the blade enhances control during thumb-pressure work.

ergonomically shaped handle with lanyard hole

The handle is made from durable polymer, offering excellent resistance to mechanical damage and environmental factors. Its surface is covered with a black rubberized anti-slip layer for improved grip and secure handling.

The ergonomic shape of the handle supports a natural hand position and improves tool control during use. A cross guard is added to protect the hand from slipping onto the blade, enhancing user safety. A lanyard hole at the end of the handle allows you to attach a securing cord or strap.

sheath included

The set includes a sheath made of injection-moulded polymer, allowing comfortable and safe carrying of the knife on a belt. The rigid construction ensures stable placement of the blade, limiting movement during activity and protecting it from mechanical damage.

The shaped design of the sheath keeps the knife securely in place, while still enabling rapid access when needed. This proves effective during outdoor use, providing easy access to the tool and comfortable wear over long periods.

AUS-10 feature
AUS-10
AUS-10 is a high-quality stainless steel produced by the Japanese company Aichi Steel, considered one of the best in the AUS steel series, used mainly in mid-range and high-end utility knives, produced mainly in Japan and Taiwan. The carbon content (0.95-1.1%) ensures high hardness, while chromium (13-14.5%) guarantees very good corrosion and abrasion resistance. The steel also contains manganese (up to 1%), silicon (up to 1%), phosphorus (up to 0.025%), and sulfur (up to 0.025%), which affect hardenability, impact strength, elasticity, and machinability, improving structural stability and maintaining mechanical properties. After hardening, the steel achieves a hardness of 58-61 HRC, offering an excellent balance between strength, edge retention, and ease of sharpening. It is comparable to 440C steel, differing in carbon content and the addition of vanadium, which improves structural homogeneity and increases abrasion resistance.
Black Oxide feature
Black Oxide
Black Oxide is a chemical conversion process in which a thin layer of magnetite (Fe3O4) is formed on the surface of steel and other ferrous metals. It gives a black, matte appearance, reduces reflectivity, and does not affect the dimensions of the components, so it can also be used in precision parts. The coating provides limited corrosion protection, so it is usually reinforced with oil or wax. Black Oxide is used in knives, firearms, and tools. The process requirements are specified in MIL-DTL-13924, which covers processing grades, color uniformity, and corrosion resistance tests, and is the basic standard for military and technical applications.
