Silky F180-7,5 Folding Saw - Red

Precision wood cutting is made effortless with the folding hand saw from Japanese brand Silky. Outfitted with a blade that boasts 45 large teeth crafted from high-carbon SK-4 steel, as well as an ergonomic handle with a non-slip coating, this tool is perfectly suited for both gardening and forestry tasks.

SK-4 carbon steel, chrome-plated blade, locking mechanism

Forged from robust SK-4 carbon steel, the 180 mm blade offers exceptional resistance to fracture and chipping. Its chrome-plated surface shields the blade from both corrosion and moisture, greatly increasing its operational lifespan. Equipped with a locking mechanism, the saw allows the blade to be secured in two available positions, providing enhanced safety for the user.

Handle

Engineered with polypropylene, rubber, and steel components, the ergonomic handle delivers durability and reliability. A soft rubber layer enhances grip and minimizes vibrations during operation. The integrated hole at the handle’s end allows for secure attachment with a carabiner or lanyard when transporting the saw.

Silky is a Japanese brand of hand saws, founded in 1919 in Ono by Katsuji Miyawaki. For over a hundred years, it has been considered synonymous with precision and reliability, and its saws are distinguished by their high quality. They are made of the highest quality cutlery steel, subjected to impulse hardening technology, and designed for “pull” cutting, which allows for light work and smooth cuts in wood. In 1980, the brand patented its own saw setting process, which significantly improves the sharpness of the teeth; the technology was used in models such as the 4-Retsume and Miraime2. Silky models are used by arborists, foresters, carpenters, and bushcraft enthusiasts around the world. An interesting fact is that the 1985 Silky “Gomboy” saw was the first on the market to have a rubber-coated handle, which distinguished it in the industry and earned it the prestigious Good Design Award in Japan. Thanks to the combination of Japanese craftsmanship and modern technology, Silky has been setting the highest standards in the hand saw segment for decades.

Outstanding in every respect — lightweight, compact, and cuts excellently. This is exactly what I expected. I also have the Bigboy and Pocketboy, but this model is perfect for bushcraft because it's easy to take with you, and every gram matters.

The saw is amazing. Lightweight, not too big, and not too small. You can easily try to cut pretty solid logs with it. Honestly, there's not much more to say—Silky is a class of its own. I have several of these saws, different types, and each one is like a Rolls-Royce among saws.

This is my second Silky saw. The previous 360 left a smooth surface after cutting, while this one, being smaller, is simply for cutting smaller surfaces—and it does it in a flash. I have a Laplander saw, which is amazing, but I think this one is better. Very good, partially rubberized, and well-shaped handle. The only thing that would be useful, even for an extra charge, is some kind of case. All in all, I would buy it again without hesitation. Not too big, not too small, just perfect.

I bought a Bahco saw some time ago and was amazed at how well it cut. Yesterday I received the Silky saw I bought the day before, and although it's hard to believe, it cuts twice as fast with zero effort. Branches of 5cm take just a few strokes with this saw. Lightweight, razor sharp, fits perfectly in hand, and the promotional price is amazing. It has one drawback – cutting with it becomes addictive and puts a big smile on your face. Highly recommended.

The saw is made excellently, worth every penny. After using an ordinary cheap saw from a store, this one cuts like butter, you can't even see it cutting. Remember to always cut toward yourself. Highly recommended, lightweight and handy.

Small, handy, practically pocket-sized, very sharp and cuts even larger pieces of wood excellently! Remember, always cut toward yourself! Superb quality, and the two blade positions only add to the overall satisfaction. It doesn't have a lock when closed, but the blade stays in place. Highly recommended.

The Silky brand speaks for itself – this saw is of very high quality. It is incredibly light, yet sharp. It's comfortable to use, the handle is well-shaped. When folded, it takes up little space and the blade is fully hidden. It's great that you can buy only the blade if the original one ever gets dull. I chose the 7.5 saw version for faster work. I am satisfied with the purchase.
