A compass that really makes a difference. Compared to cheaper models, the needle catches north instantly—I was shocked. The dial operates very precisely and is easy to use even with gloves; it offers slight resistance when turning, which is a big plus for me. All the details that facilitate working with maps are excellently refined.

Silva is a Swedish brand that has been providing reliable compasses, headlamps, and outdoor accessories for athletes, travelers, and professionals since 1933. Its founders were the first in the world to introduce a liquid-filled compass, reducing the time needed to determine direction from 30 to 4 seconds and setting a new standard in navigation. Over the years, the brand has become famous for its innovative solutions, from global compasses and smart lighting to headlamps with a power of up to 10000 lumens. The company focuses on sustainable development—for example, the Terra Scout series is made from recycled plastic and hemp fibers. For nine decades, Silva has been setting the direction for development in navigation and outdoor equipment.

All my map compasses are Silvas, and I knew this one would be the biggest. I've never been let down by them. All the extras on the ruler are essential for quick work with the map, a plus, and the scale on the lanyard is an interesting idea.
-
Probably one of the best Silva models. Sometimes the more expensive and feature-packed, the worse it gets. This is reliable when working with maps and for orienteering races. Solid, precise. I recommend it.
-
I have been using it for 3 years now and it has never let me down. Precise as hell. Convenient and easy to use. A big plus are the drawings that allow you to quickly find yourself on the map with mgrs or UTM division. Lightweight and packable, there is always room for it in your pocket. The scale on the lanyard is also a convenient option—it helps when estimating the distance of your planned route. Even though it's a bigger expense, it's not much for such a product. Worth it!
-
You won't find a better compass at this price, even compared to more expensive models or compasses from other companies, I think it is the best. It can show north very quickly and doesn't spin the needle for 2 minutes like some compasses do. The ruler on the side also makes it convenient to use together with a map.
-
A masterpiece compass, I recommend everyone have one if they plan to seriously take on long trails. Then this item is completely essential.
-
Great compass, works perfectly. It has a very good declination adjustment function, shows directions very well and makes map work much easier.
-
Great map compass. Accurately determines the direction of march. Scales adapted to the map's scale. Can be used as a ruler. The lanyard is also handy to keep it with you. Worth the price, bought on recommendation, and now I can recommend it to others too.
-
Quality and well-designed features that are worth their price. Comes with a tape with markings in various scales, making it easier to measure routes. Very good for working with maps.
-
A top-tier compass. The price matches the quality. Very sensitive, perfect for map work. Very clear and readable. A big plus is the rubber bases, thanks to which the compass does not slip on map holders or overlays.
-
A compass worth the money, quickly catches the designated direction. Quality-wise, it looks different from cheaper versions of other brands at first glance. The anti-slip pads are a plus. It's worth investing in this equipment. I recommend it.
-
Pleasant to use and clear when reading a map. Really well thought out, designed and made equipment that, in my humble opinion, is worth its price.
-
The best compass I have worked with. The scales and the ruler are invaluable for quickly finding a point. Practical and very durable. I recommend it.
-
Haven't tested it yet during an expedition, but compared it with other compasses I own (including a diving one) and it points correctly. Good quality. I recommend both the product and the store.
-
Quality itself, I recommend it.
