SOG Diverge AU Automatic Knife - Green

A compact spring-assisted knife intended for everyday carry (EDC). It is equipped with an automatically opening Drop-Point blade made of D2 steel and a lightweight green aircraft-grade aluminum handle. The open blade is secured by a Button Lock, and the reversible clip allows the knife to be carried conveniently.

Blade made of D2 tool steel

The blade is made of D2 tool steel, characterised by high wear resistance and long edge retention. The high carbon and chromium content increases cutting edge durability and provides moderate corrosion resistance. The alloy properties make the blade well suited to regular use and allow it to maintain its cutting performance for a long time.

Drop-Point blade with PVD coating

The Drop-Point blade has a length of 76.2 mm, a thickness of 2.4 mm, and a plain cutting edge. Its versatile shape allows for both precise and longer cuts during everyday tasks. The blade surface is protected with a black PVD coating, which increases wear resistance and gives the blade a uniform, dark finish, reducing reflections.

Aluminum handle with a textured surface

The handle is made of green anodized aircraft-grade aluminum, combining low weight with high mechanical strength and corrosion resistance. The ergonomic profiling together with non-slip grooves improve grip and make it easier to guide the knife steadily during use. The knife is equipped with a reversible flexible tip-up clip.

Automatic opening and Button Lock

The blade opens automatically when the button is pressed, allowing the knife to be deployed quickly with one hand. The mechanism is convenient for everyday use and allows the tool to be prepared for work efficiently. An additional safety lock protects the knife from unintentional opening.

The Button Lock keeps the blade locked in the open position. The mechanism stabilises the blade and reduces the risk of accidental closure during cutting.

SOG

Militaria.pl is a distributor of SOG.

SOG Specialty Knives & Tools is an American brand founded in 1986 by Spencer Frazer, inspired by the MACV-SOG knife used by special forces units during the Vietnam War. The first S1 Bowie model was created in cooperation with Japanese master bladesmith Ichiro Hattori and became an icon among tactical knives. SOG gained recognition thanks to the SEAL 2000 model, which was adopted for use by the Navy SEALs and is currently displayed at the Navy SEAL Museum in Fort Pierce. The brand also offers advanced multitools that use the patented Compound Leverage technology, nearly doubling the pressure force of the pliers thanks to double pivot points. SOG products are characterized by solid construction, precise workmanship, and are intended for both professionals and outdoor enthusiasts. Currently, SOG tools are manufactured mainly in the USA and Taiwan, continuing the tradition of quality and reliability.

D2 feature
D2
D2 is a high-carbon tool steel classified as semi-stainless, characterized by high wear resistance and the ability to maintain a thin, durable edge. It achieves a hardness of 57-62 HRC, which ensures long-lasting sharpness even with intensive use. Its chemical composition is a precisely selected combination of elements: carbon (1.4-1.6%), chromium (11-13%), molybdenum (up to 0.8%), vanadium (up to 1%), manganese (up to 1%), and silicon (up to 1%). The high carbon and chromium content ensures hardness and wear resistance, while molybdenum and vanadium improve the strength and durability of the cutting edge. Although D2 steel is not completely stainless, its corrosion resistance is sufficient to meet the requirements of most conditions of use. It is widely used in the production of mid-range and high-end knives, including handmade knives and cutting tools.
Button Lock feature
Button Lock
Button Lock (also known as Plunge Lock) is a locking mechanism in folding knives based on a spring button. When fully opened, the tang enters a notch at the base of the blade and locks it in the working position; when closed, the same element acts as a detent. The design allows for smooth opening and closing with one hand and increases safety, as it does not require the user to place their fingers on the blade line. Thanks to its simplicity and reliability, the Button Lock is often used in EDC knives and collector's models.
Aluminium feature
Aluminium
Aluminum is a lightweight and durable material widely used in knife manufacturing, especially in handles and structural elements. It is characterized by low weight, high corrosion resistance, and high susceptibility to machining and anodizing, which allows for durable, aesthetic surfaces in various colors. Well-chosen aluminum alloys provide adequate rigidity while maintaining low weight, which makes knives more comfortable to carry on a daily basis. In addition, this material is weather-resistant, does not rust, and withstands intensive use well, which is why it is used in tactical knives, EDC knives, and outdoor tools.
PVD - Physical Vapor Deposition feature
PVD - Physical Vapor Deposition
PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating is a modern technology for applying ultra-thin layers of metal in a vacuum, which significantly increases the durability of knives. Thanks to this, the blade becomes highly resistant to scratches, abrasion, and corrosion, while gaining a matte surface that reduces glare. This process allows for aesthetic finishes in various colors, from deep black to gold, which do not wear off like classic paint. As a result, the knife retains its great appearance and full functionality even with intensive use.
