Great look and design. Very well made, fits perfectly in the hand (unlike some "machetes") and the blade is razor-sharp. My best knife so far. I recommend it to anyone who needs reliable equipment for years.

SOG Pillar Fixed Blade Knife - Stonewash
Featuring a Full-Tang construction, the blade’s tang extends through the length of the handle, enhancing durability and strength. Forged from wear-resistant S35VN stainless steel, the blade sports a Clip-Point profile and is hardened within the 59-61 HRC range. A cryogenic heat treatment process further boosts the steel’s resistance to both corrosion and wear.
Durable blade, stonewash finish
Jimping has been added to the spine of the blade for a secure thumb rest, while the cross guard ensures the hand is protected from slipping onto the edge. Featuring a flat grind, the blade is treated with a Stonewash finish that provides a rugged, irregular appearance which helps conceal wear and scratches. An undercut for the finger at the ricasso delivers enhanced control and a comfortable, steady grip for precision tasks.
Ergonomic handle
The handle scales are crafted from micarta, a composite material made from textile fibers and epoxy resin, and are ergonomically shaped to ensure a secure and stable grip. An additional finger groove and notched surface texture on the handle enhance control and help prevent the hand from slipping onto the blade. The handle also features a glass breaker and an integrated hole for attaching a lanyard or rope.
Kydex holster
Constructed from robust Kydex, the holster features a low-profile clip integrated into its design. A set of holes allows for easy attachment to backpacks or gear by threading lines or webbing through them.

SOG Specialty Knives & Tools is an American brand founded in 1986 by Spencer Fraser, inspired by the MACV-SOG knife used by special forces during the Vietnam War. The first S1 Bowie model was created in collaboration with Japanese master blacksmith Ichiro Hattori and became an icon among tactical knives. SOG gained recognition with the SEAL 2000 model, which was adopted by the Navy SEALs and is now on display at the Navy SEALs museum in Fort Pierce. The brand also offers advanced multitools that use patented Compound Leverage technology, which nearly doubles the pressure of the pliers thanks to double pivot points. SOG products are characterized by their solid construction, precision workmanship, and are designed for both professionals and outdoor enthusiasts. Today, SOG tools are manufactured primarily in the US and Taiwan, continuing a tradition of quality and reliability.
