Sordin Supreme T2 Leather Active Hearing Protectors - Black

Engineered for uniformed professionals, hunters, and sport shooting enthusiasts, these active hearing protectors deliver reliable hearing protection on both the shooting range and the battlefield. A streamlined, low-profile structure combined with premium materials guarantees lasting comfort during extended wear. Compliant with the European Single Number Rating (SNR) standard for anticipated sound reduction, these protectors achieve an attenuation rating of SNR 29 dB.

SordinHEAR2 sound system, two microphones

The SordinHEAR2 audio system delivers outstanding sound reproduction and features four distinct audio modes (Tactical, Dual, Comfort, and Ambient off). Equipped with two waterproof omnidirectional microphones designed for high-frequency performance, the system accurately detects surrounding noises and relays them to the integrated speakers. Exposure to dangerous sounds is restricted to a maximum of 82 dB for user safety, while subtle sounds are selectively amplified.

Contoured headband, Step-by-step adjustment system, large buttons

The ergonomically-shaped headband is constructed from a combination of plastic and steel, and features a premium black natural leather covering. A precise incremental adjustment system ensures that the protectors can be fine-tuned to the individual user's requirements, while the foldable design enables convenient transport and storage. The ear pads incorporate soft memory foam cushions, greatly enhancing wearing comfort during extended use. With large, easily accessible control buttons, the headphones remain easy to operate while wearing tactical gloves or under adverse weather conditions. Compatibility is ensured for both left- and right-handed shooters.

Battery power supply, low battery indicator, automatic shut-off

Sordin Supreme T2 operates using either an AA battery or a Sordin Power 14500 rechargeable battery, delivering up to 400 hours of continuous use. Battery replacement is straightforward—simply unscrew the cover located on the side of one of the ear cups. An integrated low battery warning system activates when approximately 40 hours of power remain, along with an automatic shut-off feature after 4 hours of inactivity for added efficiency.

two AUX audio inputs

Featuring two 3.5 mm AUX audio inputs, the protectors can be connected to external devices such as radios or mobile phones.

Standards and certifications

The Sordin Supreme T2 Leather version meets the following standards:

  • SNR 29 dB – attenuation value as per the European SNR (Single Number Rating), indicating the anticipated reduction of noise in a standard work environment.
  • IP68 – rating for battery compartment and microphone protection. Ensures total defense against dust and allows immersion in water up to 2 meters deep for 30 minutes.
  • EN 352-1:2020 – outlines criteria for ear defenders worn on the ears, regardless of electronic properties. Validates the effectiveness of both passive and active earmuffs in noise reduction.
  • EN 352-4:2020 – applies to variants featuring sound level-dependent functionality. Guarantees that microphones and electronics enhance low-level sounds while suppressing harmful noise.
  • EN 352-6:2020 – standard for hearing protection equipped with audio input. Confirms that audio from external devices (such as radios or telephones) remains within safe listening levels.
  • MIL-STD 810 – U.S. military standard defining testing methods to assess equipment durability under extreme conditions, including vibration, impact, humidity, dust, freezing, and elevated temperatures.
  • MIL-STD-461 – U.S. military specification dictating electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements for electronic equipment, measuring resistance to and emission of electromagnetic disturbances.
  • ANSI S3.19-1974 – describes laboratory protocols for determining the noise attenuation performance of hearing protectors, such as earmuffs and earplugs.
  • RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) – product is manufactured without hazardous materials like lead, cadmium, or mercury.
  • WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) – adheres to EU directives for the safe recycling and disposal of electronic equipment.

In my opinion, Sordin did not take proper care of promoting these headphones – it's difficult to find any reliable reviews online, and I didn't even know about their existence until the beginning of this year, even though I usually keep up with technological news. I think they appeared on the market at the beginning of last year. I suspect that their high price might discourage potential customers, as I believe they are a bit too expensive for their capabilities. The headphones come in a plain box – inside there is an anonymous AA battery, a manual, and the set itself. In my view, for such a price Sordin should have included a charger and a rechargeable battery, and the lack of these extras looks like an attempt to cut costs. Now that I've listed the downsides, let me move on to the positives. I previously used the Supreme Pro-X, but the T2 are better in many respects. The sound quality is noticeably higher – cleaner and more realistic, and the availability of several modes (tactical, comfort, double, ambient off) is useful in various situations. I swapped the foam pads for gel ones because the former were uncomfortable for long-term use. The headband is adjusted by unscrewing four screws, not sliding – in my opinion, this is a better solution because the headband moves more smoothly and doesn't get accidentally readjusted, as was the case with the Supreme Pro-X. I also appreciate the new battery system – previously, removing two AAA batteries was cumbersome, now you just unscrew the cap and one AA battery pops out, so you no longer need to shake it out of the headphones. The build quality is, in my opinion, very high. I even used them during heavy rain and they still work, which suggests they are waterproof.
