In my opinion, Sordin did not take proper care of promoting these headphones – it's difficult to find any reliable reviews online, and I didn't even know about their existence until the beginning of this year, even though I usually keep up with technological news. I think they appeared on the market at the beginning of last year. I suspect that their high price might discourage potential customers, as I believe they are a bit too expensive for their capabilities. The headphones come in a plain box – inside there is an anonymous AA battery, a manual, and the set itself. In my view, for such a price Sordin should have included a charger and a rechargeable battery, and the lack of these extras looks like an attempt to cut costs. Now that I've listed the downsides, let me move on to the positives. I previously used the Supreme Pro-X, but the T2 are better in many respects. The sound quality is noticeably higher – cleaner and more realistic, and the availability of several modes (tactical, comfort, double, ambient off) is useful in various situations. I swapped the foam pads for gel ones because the former were uncomfortable for long-term use. The headband is adjusted by unscrewing four screws, not sliding – in my opinion, this is a better solution because the headband moves more smoothly and doesn't get accidentally readjusted, as was the case with the Supreme Pro-X. I also appreciate the new battery system – previously, removing two AAA batteries was cumbersome, now you just unscrew the cap and one AA battery pops out, so you no longer need to shake it out of the headphones. The build quality is, in my opinion, very high. I even used them during heavy rain and they still work, which suggests they are waterproof.

SordinHEAR2 sound system, two microphones
The SordinHEAR2 audio system delivers superior sound clarity and features four selectable audio profiles (Tactical, Dual, Comfort, and Ambient off). Outfitted with two waterproof, high-frequency omni-directional microphones, the device efficiently captures surrounding sounds and relays them through the integrated speakers. Hazardous noises are restricted to a safe maximum of 82 dB, while quieter sounds are enhanced for optimal hearing.
Contoured headband, Gradual adjustment system, large buttons
The ergonomically shaped headband combines durable plastic and steel, finished with premium quality natural leather in black. An advanced gradual adjustment system ensures optimal fit of the ear protectors to individual preferences, while the foldable structure provides convenient transport and storage. The earmuffs are enhanced with soft memory foam cushions, offering superior wearing comfort. Large, intuitively placed function buttons enable easy operation—even with tactical gloves or in challenging weather conditions. Designed for both right- and left-handed shooters.
Battery power, low battery indicator, automatic shutdown
Sordin Supreme T2 can be powered by a standard AA battery or a Sordin Power 14500 rechargeable battery, delivering an operating time of up to approximately 400 hours. Changing the battery is simple—just unscrew the cover located on the side of one earcup. The unit features a low battery warning system (activating when around 40 hours of use remain) as well as an automatic shut-off function after 4 hours of inactivity.
two AUX audio inputs
Designed with two 3.5mm AUX audio inputs, the protectors can be linked to equipment like radios and mobile phones.
Standards and certifications
The Sordin Supreme T2 Leather version complies with the following standards:
- SNR 29 dB – sound attenuation level determined by European Single Number Rating (SNR), indicating the anticipated degree of noise reduction within typical workplace environments.
- IP68 – waterproof classification for the battery compartment and microphones. Guarantees complete protection from dust and enables immersion in water up to 2 meters deep for up to 30 minutes.
- EN 352-1:2020 – defines the requirements for earmuffs worn over the ears, independent of electronic functions. Verifies efficient noise attenuation for both passive and active hearing protection.
- EN 352-4:2020 – applicable to models featuring level-dependent sound functions. Confirms that microphones and electronics properly enhance ambient sounds while limiting harmful noise.
- EN 352-6:2020 – standard concerning hearing protection devices with audio input. Assures that audio from external devices (such as radios or phones) remains at a safe volume.
- MIL-STD 810 – U.S. military standard defining testing procedures for assessing resilience to harsh environmental factors like vibration, shock, moisture, dust, freezing, or extreme heat.
- MIL-STD-461 – American military standard outlining the requirements for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of electronic devices, covering immunity to, and emission of, electromagnetic interference.
- ANSI S3.19-1974 – establishes methods for laboratory assessment of noise reduction capabilities for hearing protectors, including earmuffs and earplugs.
- RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) – certified free from dangerous materials such as lead, cadmium, or mercury.
- WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) – observes EU directives for environmentally responsible disposal and recycling of electronic equipment.

MIL-STD-810F standard specifies test requirements for military equipment, including metal detectors, to ensure their reliability in extreme environmental conditions. Tests include resistance to extreme temperatures, humidity, shock and vibration, among others. Metal detectors that meet this standard are guaranteed to work in harsh operating environments.
RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) certification means that the device complies with the European Union directive limiting the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. The device contains no or only trace amounts of six substances: lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE). RoHS certification aims to reduce the impact of these substances on human health and the environment.
