Woodland, commonly referred to as U.S. Woodland or M81, is an iconic camouflage design that was introduced to the US Armed Forces in the early 1980s, evolving from the earlier ERDL pattern. Serving as the official camouflage of the US military for more than twenty years, up until the late 2000s, it features broad, irregular shapes in green, brown, beige, and black hues. These colors excel in blending into forested environments, offering effective concealment and visual disruption. Due to its proven performance and widespread recognition, numerous adaptations of the original pattern have been adopted by over 60 military units worldwide. Its distinct aesthetic has also made a significant mark in popular culture, transitioning from its initial military purpose to mainstream fashion.
