Activation begins by pulling the tab, which initiates the device; following this, press the button. Successful startup is confirmed by four green LED flashes. While operational, a green light will flash once every 5 minutes. After 8 hours, the device shuts off automatically, though manual deactivation is possible using the button—signaled by a single long red flash.
