The use of Cordura in the manufacturing process ensures exceptional durability. Its unique fibre composition delivers outstanding resistance to mechanical wear, even under heavy-duty conditions.

Cotton contributes to excellent moisture management and breathability, significantly reducing the chances of chafing or irritation, thereby providing superior comfort during prolonged wear.

Reinforced with thicker Rip-Stop woven threads, the fabric features a grid structure that strengthens the material and helps contain any potential damage, preventing it from spreading.

Adjustable circumference and brim, air cushion, vents

The circumference of the hat can be quickly tailored to the wearer thanks to an elastic cord equipped with a stopper. An integrated wire runs along the brim, enabling the hat to conform closely to the head’s contours.

Enhanced comfort is provided by an internal air cushion that forms an extra insulating layer, supporting optimal body temperature regulation. Offering effective protection, the construction remains exceptionally lightweight and does not noticeably increase the overall mass of the hat.

Strategically placed mesh vents at the front and back facilitate unrestricted airflow.

Small utility pocket, durable loops, velcro panels

A durable webbing with integrated loops is stitched above the brim to secure essential gear and attach camouflage. The hat also includes an internal flat compartment for carrying small necessities.

Velcro panels located on the hat allow for the attachment of various patches and insignias, including national flags, unit badges, or Morale Patches.

Flecktarn represents an iconic German military camouflage pattern that was officially adopted by the Bundeswehr in 1990.     The hat was tested the next day after picking it up in a mountain area and I have to admit that it is really airy and very light. The flexible brim allows you to configure practically the whole circumference, which is a big plus. The workmanship is of the highest level, this is my third hat, this time from UF PRO, and I have to admit that my two Helikon boonie hats can now retire. I recommend it with a clear conscience.

    This is the best boonie hat I’ve had so far. It’s obviously nothing extraordinary, but its big advantage is the better ventilation, which helps keep you cool during long hikes. What I appreciate most, though, is the metal wire sewn into the brim, which lets you shape it properly so it doesn’t look like a limp rag. UF PRO also offers an optional cooling insert, although I haven’t tested it yet; I sweat enough that in a way it works on its own. The only thing I could nitpick is the Velcro layout — a rear ID panel would be useful, but that’s a minor detail, because if needed I can sew one on myself.

Thanks to the flexible drawstring, the boonie can be securely adjusted at the back of the head, so it does not fall off even while riding a quad bike.
