Wiley X Citadel Tactical Glasses - Captivate Red/Polished White

White tactical eyewear equipped with lenses crafted from Selenite polycarbonate, incorporating advanced Captivate technology and a lightweight yet highly resilient Triloid nylon frame. Featuring a system for quick lens interchangeability, users can swiftly respond to varying lighting environments. Enhanced rubberized contact elements, complemented by specially designed nose pads and temple tips, guarantee stability and a secure fit in dynamic conditions. Optimized for outdoor operations, these glasses excel in sunny and high-brightness scenarios.

visors made of Selenite polycarbonate, Captivate technology

Constructed from shatterproof Selenite polycarbonate, the lenses offer 100% protection for the eyes against harmful solar radiation (UVA, UVB) and allow 15% of visible light transmission. Incorporating Captivate technology, these lenses optimize the visible light spectrum, allowing more uniform light to reach the eyes. A neutral color profile is preserved, while green tones are intensified for better visibility. Glare is minimized, while contrast and color definition in outdoor settings are heightened. Comprehensive eye protection is provided against harmful ultraviolet rays, including UVA and UVB, along with blue light (HEV).

The application of an Oleophobic coating ensures resistance against dust, dirt, oil, snow, and water, simplifying the cleaning process compared to lenses lacking such a coating. Enhanced scratch resistance is achieved through the T-Shell coating.

contoured frames, non-slip temples, side shields

Anatomically shaped frames and lenses are crafted using HVP technology (High Velocity Protection), offering reliable defense against eye injuries from high-speed impacts. Constructed from the robust Triloid material, the frames are engineered for durability and a secure fit that maintains comfort, even when wearing headphones or hearing protectors. Rubberized, non-slip temples and a nose pad guarantee stable positioning on the face. Easily attachable side shields comply with the ANSI Z87.1+ safety standard.

protective standards

  • ANSI Z87.1+ (High Mass Protection) - Compliant with this standard, both the frame and lenses are required to resist the impact from a 0.5 kg object dropped from a height of approximately 130 cm.
  • ANSI Z87.1+ (High Velocity Protection) - As specified by this standard, the frame and visor endure the impact of a steel ball with a diameter of 6.35 mm traveling at a velocity of 164.6 km/h (45 m/s).
  • MIL-PRF 32432A - To meet this specification, the frame and visor resist the impact of fragments flying at speeds of about 768–796 km/h (roughly 213–221 m/s) without lens penetration or the detachment of components that could harm the wearer.

The glasses are very comfortable and hold well. Nice glasses for the shooting range and beyond. For a wide head, the visor could be a bit wider. A good option, I recommend it!
