Za-Pas Geo G10 Knife - Black

Knife with a total length of 190 mm and a Full Tang construction, meaning the blade tang runs through the entire handle. The 90 mm long Wharncliffe blade is made of corrosion-resistant 1.4116S stainless steel. The blade features a flat grind (Flat Grind). The blade is coated with a black textured coating that reduces glare and gives it a matte finish. The handle scales are made of G10 laminate in black.

The knife blade is made of high-grade 1.4116S stainless steel, hardened to 59-61 HRC. The material used is characterized by very good corrosion resistance.

Wharncliffe blade profile, flat grind

The model features a Wharncliffe blade with a plain cutting edge and a length of 90 mm. The blade has a flat grind, providing increased resistance to damage. Proper blade balance translates into better control over the knife. The weight is distributed evenly between the blade and the handle, ensuring higher cutting precision and reducing hand fatigue during prolonged use. The blade is finished with a black, textured coating. The matte texture reduces light reflections and protects the steel from moisture and external factors, supporting rust protection and extending the blade's service life.

Handle scales made of durable G10 laminate

The ergonomically shaped handle is made of black G10 laminate. The material is resistant to moisture, temperature changes, as well as most solvents and acids. In addition, it offers high resistance to mechanical damage.

The textured surface of the scales ensures a secure and safe grip while working with the knife. At the end of the handle there is a so-called lanyard hole, allowing a safety cord to be threaded through.

sheath included

The set includes a rigid sheath made of lightweight yet durable Kydex, equipped with a steel clip for convenient carrying of the knife on a belt. Additionally the sheath has numerous mounting holes which, thanks to their proper arrangement, allow the use of a Tek-Lok mount.

1.4116S (commercial equivalent of 14C28N steel) is a stainless steel with good hardness and corrosion resistance, belonging to the martensitic steel group. It contains approximately 0.45-0.55% carbon, which gives it a hardness of 55-58 HRC after appropriate heat treatment, as well as relatively good abrasion resistance. The chromium content of 14-15% ensures very good resistance to rust and oxidation. Additionally, it contains manganese (0.6%), silicon (0.2%) and a small amount of phosphorus and sulfur. 1.4116S is valued for its ease of sharpening and maintenance, as well as for its relatively good balance between hardness, corrosion resistance, and edge durability, making it suitable for the production of medium-hardness knives, kitchen knives, and tools.

G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.

Kydex is a thermoplastic, durable material commonly used in the production of knife sheaths. It is resistant to impact, scratches, and changing weather conditions, and has very low moisture absorption. The sheaths are molded directly onto the knife, which guarantees a perfect fit, high durability, and complete safety—the blade remains securely in place even during dynamic movements. Due to its durability and customization options, Kydex has gained popularity in the tactical and survival industries. Sheaths are often equipped with additional mounting holes with metal eyelets, which increase their durability and allow for easy attachment of buckles, clips, or loops to a belt or harness.

    The knife is extremely handy and small. This should be taken into account. However, if you want a tool that holds its edge for a long time, is stainless, and can be used to prepare food, this is the perfect knife! You just need to accept the blade shape and read that it is not an ordinary 1.4116. The "S" at the end means the addition of nitrogen, which boosts hardening to 61 HRC, and you can feel it in use! The knife is quite light, but cuts very well and works great as a small companion for every bushcrafter!
