We present a category of various types of windsock sights. Below you will find information on what kind of sight to choose for a particular model of airgun, what are the differences between a collimator, a laser sight for airguns and a scope. First of all, an airgun (from English airgun) is a pistol or rifle powered by compressed air. These can be co2 cartridges, a piston compressing air in a cylinder, or PCP windguns, which are powered by air stored in a cartridge under the barrel. A PCP windcheater is loaded with a pump or compressed air cylinder. In Poland, we can own without a permit a windcheater whose power does not exceed 17J.
Virtually every air rifle is equipped with basic sighting instruments, i.e. a mechanical bow tie and a scimitar. This is good for shooting at shorter distances - about 10-15 meters. However, if you are already an intermediate shooter, this type of shooting will rather cease to be enough for you and you will desire shooting at longer distances. The problem is that the farther the object is positioned, the more it is obscured by the overlapping bow tie, so precision shooting at more than twenty meters with basic aiming instruments will be very difficult. Here, for example, laser sights for air rifles come to our aid. They are primarily designed for guns that have rails under the barrels. Most often, the standard 22mm RIS rails, as they are called, are compatible with laser sights or flashlights - they are found not only in air rifles, the identical principle of operation occurs in firearms and assists police officers or special units during operations carried out. Laser sights for air rifles put a low-power laser, which, when activated, shows us with a red beam the place where the shot will be fired. They are calibrated more or less in the same way as collimators and scopes, that is, they have two levels of target adjustment - vertical and horizontal.
Laser sights for air rifles are used for dynamic shooting. Mounted on the gun, they make it so that we don't have to visually align the musket with the sights to fire a shot, and we can fire several shots consecutively, for example, knocking down cans or targets set up for this purpose, from which we can read the result. A laser sight for a windshield will also come in handy when training to quickly retrieve a pistol from its holster and fire a shot practically instantaneously, which is an important part of uniformed services training. Now you don't have to go to the shooting range - by choosing the right model of air rifle and attaching a laser sight, you can train even at home. When shooting with a laser-assisted sight, however, still staying with small arms, the effective distance will be a maximum of twenty meters of actual accuracy, even when shooting with a firearm. If you desire more precise shooting, you can consider using a pistol collimator, which is an increasingly popular targeting tool. It then replaces the musket and the pinniped, most often without a zoom, and has a glowing red dot in the center to replace the musket. Until now, this solution was only available for assault rifles, but it is increasingly appearing on pistols as well. The scope, on the other hand, provides us with a zoom, which is essential for long-distance shooting. However, it is the instrument most often used on carbines, since for shooting at more than twenty meters we need good stabilization and bullet power to achieve this effect. Remember that when working or playing with laser sights for air rifles, under no circumstances should you point the laser beam into your eyes - yours or anyone else's! This is a very important safety issue when operating this type of equipment.
