Women's softshell jackets and men's softshell jackets are outerwear that effectively protects against wind, cold and moisture. Softshell jackets not only provide warmth and weather protection, but also breathe well. This makes them suitable for use in conditions of increased exertion. Depending on the thickness of the material, a softshell jacket will work well for activities such as physically demanding ASG, trekking or biking.
Softshell jackets are a popular and practical type of outerwear that provides an alternative to onion-type clothing. In the traditional version, softshell consists of two layers glued together, but there are also jackets with a different construction. The main task of most softshell jackets is to protect against adverse weather conditions. Compared to classic hardshells, women's and men's softshell jackets are lighter and breathe better, so they are worth using during physically demanding activities. A hooded softshell is an ideal complement to thermal underwear.
Women's softshell differs in cut from the men's version. Women's softshell jacket, as a rule, has a tapered waist, thanks to which it fits better to the female body. Many models of softshell jackets are equipped with a membrane, which provides good protection against wind and moisture. As a rule, however, it is not a waterproof membrane. Against water, the fabric is protected by subjecting it to waterproofing, so that a softshell jacket for men or women can be used in light rain. The advantage of such a solution is better breathability of the fabric used. Most softshell jackets are constructed in this way, although there are also models equipped with a membrane that is both windproof and waterproof.
