An unassuming little knife that really shows the point of its existence only once you actually start using it. It is not a tool for heavy-duty work or a pretend miniature survival axe, but a simple handy knife for everyday tasks. Opening packages, cutting rope, fixing something on a backpack, preparing small pieces of wood for kindling, or doing ordinary camp chores — for things like that it works very well. What I like most about it is its simplicity. There is nothing to unfold, unlock, or fumble for with a fingernail on the blade notch. I pull it from the sheath, do what I need to do, and put it back. The handle may look modest, but in the hand it is surprisingly comfortable and provides a fairly secure grip. The knife itself is light enough that you can attach it to a backpack and practically forget about it until it is needed. The sheath is also sensibly designed and offers several mounting options, which for me is much more important than wearing this kind of knife around the neck. The steel is no technological marvel, and there is no point pretending it will hold an edge like blades costing many times more, but it is easy to touch up and is entirely sufficient for normal use. That is exactly this knife’s biggest advantage — you do not feel bad about actually using it. You do not inspect every scratch against the light or get heart palpitations when the edge touches cardboard. It simply works. A nice choice as a backup knife for a backpack, car, or basic trip gear. Small, simple, light, and more useful than its appearance suggests.
