Benchmade Tactical Triage CPM-S30V Folding Knife - Black G10

Folding EDC (Every Day Carry) knife with a Drop-Point blade profile. The blade is 88 mm long and made of CPM-S30V stainless steel. It features a Back Lock mechanism, with handle scales made from G10 laminate in black color. The clip can be mounted on both the right and left side of the knife, facilitating easy carry.

CPM-S30V stainless steel, Black Cerakote coating

The blade is crafted from high-quality CPM-S30V stainless steel renowned for its abrasion resistance. The blade is hardened to 58-60 HRC. The partially serrated edge is coated with Black Cerakote ceramic coating for protection against corrosion and harmful chemical effects.

thumb stud, Axis Lock

The blade is opened using a double-sided thumb stud, allowing the knife to be opened with either the right or left hand. The sliding locking mechanism, known for its durability and resistance to heavy loads, Axis Lock, prevents the tool from closing and accidental opening during transport.

G10 laminate, glass breaker

The profiled handle scales are made from G10 laminate consisting of resin and fiberglass. A glass breaker and a Lanyard Hole for a cord or lanyard are located at the end of the handle.

belt cutter, steel clip

Additionally, the knife is equipped with a belt cutter and a springy, two-position (right or left-sided) steel clip for carrying in tip-up position.

Benchmade Knife Company is an American brand founded in 1988 by Les de Asis in Oregon, with roots dating back to the 1970s when it operated as Bali-Song. The company became famous for producing folding and combat knives, and its butterfly logo refers to the first balisong models, which were awarded the title of Knife of the Year in 1979. Today, Benchmade manufactures knives in three lines: Blue Class, Black Class, and Gold Class, using modern powder steels such as S30V, M390, and CPM-20CV, and the patented Axis Lock, valued for its reliability and smooth operation. Among the brand's icons are the Griptilian, Bugout, 940 Osborne, Infidel, and Bushcrafter models, and the company regularly collaborates with renowned knifemakers such as Mel Pardue, Warren Osborne, and Ernest Emerson. Benchmade was the first knife manufacturer in the US to implement fully automated CNC production, achieving unprecedented precision and repeatability in the industry.

CPM S30V feature
CPM S30V
CPM S30V is a powder stainless steel developed by Crucible Industries in collaboration with knifemaker Chris Reeve. It is distinguished by its precisely selected formula, containing carbon, chromium, molybdenum, and vanadium. The carbon content is approximately 1.45%, which ensures high hardness and long-lasting sharpness. Chromium (approximately 14%) is responsible for very good corrosion resistance, which makes S30V steel suitable for use in various, even difficult environments. Additions of molybdenum (approximately 2%) and vanadium (approximately 4%) increase the steel's wear resistance and improve its strength. As a result, CPM S30V provides an optimal balance between hardness, strength, and corrosion resistance, making it an ideal choice for the production of high-quality knives. After heat treatment, the steel achieves a hardness of 58-61 HRC, which is crucial for maintaining a sharp edge and resistance to deformation under stress.
Axis-Lock feature
Axis-Lock
Axis-Lock is a folding knife locking mechanism patented by Bill McHenry and Jason Williams, popularized and licensed by Benchmade. A spring steel bar (crossbar) slides transversely between the scales and fits into a recess on the back of the blade, firmly locking it in the open position. The mechanism works thanks to two omega springs that press the bar into the lock, ensuring smooth, two-handed operation and no play. To close the knife, simply slide the bar toward the rear of the handle and release the catch, allowing you to safely fold the blade without risking contact between your fingers and the blade.
Cerakote feature
Cerakote
Cerakote is an advanced ceramic-polymer coating applied to knife blades to increase their durability and give them a distinctive appearance. It forms a thin, opaque layer that does not alter the geometry or balance of the blade, while ensuring high durability. Its matte, non-reflective finish, available in a variety of colors, makes it a popular choice for tactical and outdoor knives. The coating is resistant to impact, chipping, and abrasion, effectively protecting the steel in demanding conditions. In corrosion tests (Salt Spray ASTM B-117), it retains its properties for thousands of hours, protecting the blade from rust and oxidation. It is also resistant to chemicals, including cleaning agents and solvents.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.

Benchmade knives are certainly not among the cheapest, and not every model will appeal to everyone. However, due to their build quality and reliability, they attract the attention of many blade enthusiasts. The Tactical Triage is relatively light and slim, making it comfortable to carry in the pocket, even with fairly delicate casual trousers. At the same time, its simple, elegant design sets it apart from most "flashy" rescue knives, so it doesn't attract too much attention during everyday use in trivial, mundane situations. It feels very comfortable in the hand, especially for men's sizes S/M.
