Bestech Knives Mako Folding Knife - Black

Durable EDC (Every Day Carry) folder with a thick blade featuring a flat-grind. The use of a flat grind ensures very good cutting properties while maintaining high resistance to cracks and chipping.

tool steel K110, Black Stonewash finish

The Drop-point profile blade is made of high-quality tool steel K110 (D2), characterized by increased wear resistance. It is hardened to 59-61 HRC. The blade is finished with Black Stonewash technology, making scratches from everyday use less visible.

ceramic bearings, Liner-Lock lock

Easy opening of the knife is facilitated by a main axis with ceramic bearings and a flipper, which also serves as a guard preventing the hand from slipping onto the blade. The blade is secured in the open position by a proven Liner-Lock, and work safety is further enhanced by the profiling and jimping on the spine of the blade, providing a secure thumb rest.

G10 laminate handle

A wide, ergonomic handle consists of two scales attached to the framework with screws. The use of G10 laminate for their production makes the knife lightweight and durable, while the non-slip texture ensures a firm grip, even when the hand is dirty or wet.

springy clip, lanyard hole

Convenient carrying is facilitated by a springy, steel clip, allowing the knife to be attached to a belt, pocket edge, or other gear. There is a hole on the handle's butt through which a security cord, lanyard, or keychain can be threaded.

K110 feature
K110
Bohler K110 is a high-carbon cold work tool steel used in cutlery manufacturing and is the European equivalent of American D2 steel. Its carbon content of approximately 1.55% gives it high hardness and very good cutting properties, while 11.3% chromium increases its abrasion resistance and slows down the corrosion process, although it does not make it completely stainless. The addition of vanadium (0.75%) and molybdenum (0.75%) ensures long-lasting sharpness and resistance to intensive use. The steel also has good dimensional stability during heat treatment and retains high compressive strength, reaching 60-62 HRC after hardening. Due to its combination of high abrasion resistance, relatively easy machining, and good edge retention, K110 is used in utility, tactical, and survival knives.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
Stonewash feature
Stonewash
Stonewash is a blade finishing technique that involves treating steel in a drum filled with stones, ceramic abrasives, or beads. The impact of the material creates a characteristic, irregular pattern with micro-scratches, giving the effect of a matte, slightly “aged” surface with a raw, practical appearance. The finish gives the knife an aesthetic look and masks minor scratches and marks that occur during use, keeping the blade looking like new for longer. The matte texture reduces light reflections, which is valued in tactical and outdoor knives, and the micro-scratches can further reduce friction during cutting. Due to its durability, discreet appearance, and ease of maintenance, stonewash is popular in EDC, field, and tactical knives.

Great knife. I am a bit larger in size, so I needed a bigger knife for daily use to handle it comfortably, and this one met my expectations. Big, thick blade, the flipper works reliably even with the blade's weight, great appearance, not noticeable in the pocket, but as I mentioned, I'm a bit bigger myself so the weight doesn't bother me. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a larger EDC knife.

The knife should work well for not too heavy tasks. The lock is not as strong as in Cold Steel knives, but the blade moves very smoothly and is immediately locked.
