Bestech Knives Penguin Folding Knife - Black/Orange

Compact and lightweight EDC (Every Day Carry) folding knife, featuring a Sheepfoot blade crafted from premium D2 tool steel and a robust, ergonomic handle constructed from G10 laminate.

D2 tool steel, Black Stonewashed finish

The blade is crafted from premium D2 tool steel, known for its exceptional wear resistance and the ability to hold a sharp, resilient edge for extended periods. Elevated levels of carbon and chromium provide impressive hardness and resistance to abrasion, while the addition of molybdenum and vanadium increases overall strength and toughness.

Boasting a hardened structure rated at 59-61 HRC, the knife features a Black Stonewashed finish, resulting in a semi-matte appearance that effectively minimizes glare.

Sheepfoot blade, jimping

Equipped with a Sheepfoot blade, the model offers a gently curved spine for enhanced safety and control. The 92 mm long blade boasts a plain, sharp edge, making it ideal for routine use and moderate outdoor applications. Jimping (notching) along the spine of the blade provides an assured thumb rest, granting greater precision and stability during cutting tasks.

liner-lock mechanism, flipper

Fast deployment of the knife is achieved through a main axis featuring a ceramic bearing and a flipper, which doubles as a guard to shield the hand from sliding onto the blade. A dependable Liner Lock ensures the blade stays securely open.

G10 laminate handle

The ergonomic handle features two-tone panels fastened to the frame with screws. Crafted from G10 laminate, the knife combines exceptional lightness with robust durability, while the rough texture provides a firm and reliable grip in all conditions.

flexible clip, lanyard hole

A practical solution for everyday carry is provided by a resilient clip crafted from tip-up right carry stainless steel, integrated into the handle, enabling secure attachment of the knife to a belt or pocket edge. Positioned at the rear of the handle, a dedicated hole allows for threading a cord to prevent loss, or for attaching a lanyard or keychain.

D2 feature
D2
D2 is a high-carbon tool steel classified as semi-stainless, characterized by high wear resistance and the ability to maintain a thin, durable edge. It achieves a hardness of 57-62 HRC, which ensures long-lasting sharpness even with intensive use. Its chemical composition is a precisely selected combination of elements: carbon (1.4-1.6%), chromium (11-13%), molybdenum (up to 0.8%), vanadium (up to 1%), manganese (up to 1%), and silicon (up to 1%). The high carbon and chromium content ensures hardness and wear resistance, while molybdenum and vanadium improve the strength and durability of the cutting edge. Although D2 steel is not completely stainless, its corrosion resistance is sufficient to meet the requirements of most conditions of use. It is widely used in the production of mid-range and high-end knives, including handmade knives and cutting tools.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
Stonewash feature
Stonewash
Stonewash is a blade finishing technique that involves treating steel in a drum filled with stones, ceramic abrasives, or beads. The impact of the material creates a characteristic, irregular pattern with micro-scratches, giving the effect of a matte, slightly “aged” surface with a raw, practical appearance. The finish gives the knife an aesthetic look and masks minor scratches and marks that occur during use, keeping the blade looking like new for longer. The matte texture reduces light reflections, which is valued in tactical and outdoor knives, and the micro-scratches can further reduce friction during cutting. Due to its durability, discreet appearance, and ease of maintenance, stonewash is popular in EDC, field, and tactical knives.
