Robust yet lightweight, the EDC folding knife (Every Day Carry) is crafted for daily reliability. Engineered by American knifemaker Keanu Alfaro, it incorporates a Drop-Point blade forged from D2 tool steel and a durable handle constructed from khaki-colored G10 laminate.
D2 tool steel
Forged from D2 tool steel, the blade is hardened to a level of 58-60 HRC. The selected material offers excellent resistance to wear, while still ensuring optimal toughness and impact strength.
Drop-Point blade, DLC coating
Featuring a Drop-Point design, the blade measures 90 mm in length and 3.5 mm in thickness. Outfitted with a plain edge and shaped by a full flat grind, the blade includes an additional grind near the tip to boost penetration power and facilitate precise cutting work. The blade’s surface is protected by a black DLC coating (Diamond Like Carbon), which shields against scratches and reduces glare. Enhanced comfort in use is provided by jimping along the blade spine, offering a stable and secure grip for the thumb.
Button Lock, ball bearings
The blade remains locked in the open position by means of a Button Lock. Rapid deployment is ensured by a double-sided thumb stud working in conjunction with ceramic ball bearings.
G10 laminate handle
Featuring an ergonomic handle crafted from robust G10 laminate, which consists of multiple layers of fibreglass set in epoxy resin. The handle’s non-slip texture on the scales provides reliable safety and a firm grip. A lanyard hole is positioned at the base of the handle.

A deep carry clip with two-position mounting for either right or left-handed users enables secure and convenient transport of the knife, allowing attachment to a belt, pocket edge, or other gear.

D2
D2 is a high-carbon tool steel classified as semi-stainless, characterized by high wear resistance and the ability to maintain a thin, durable edge. It achieves a hardness of 57-62 HRC, which ensures long-lasting sharpness even with intensive use. Its chemical composition is a precisely selected combination of elements: carbon (1.4-1.6%), chromium (11-13%), molybdenum (up to 0.8%), vanadium (up to 1%), manganese (up to 1%), and silicon (up to 1%). The high carbon and chromium content ensures hardness and wear resistance, while molybdenum and vanadium improve the strength and durability of the cutting edge. Although D2 steel is not completely stainless, its corrosion resistance is sufficient to meet the requirements of most conditions of use. It is widely used in the production of mid-range and high-end knives, including handmade knives and cutting tools.
DLC - Diamond-Like Carbon
DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) is a modern protective coating in which a thin layer of amorphous carbon with a structure similar to diamond is applied to steel. It increases the hardness and abrasion resistance of the blade, protects against corrosion, and reduces friction during cutting. The characteristic matte shade of black or anthracite gives the knife a tactical look and eliminates light reflections, which is important in military and outdoor applications. Thanks to its high scratch resistance, the blade retains its aesthetics and functional properties for longer, which is why the DLC finish is widely used in EDC, field, and tactical knives.
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.

Great knife at a good price. D2 steel is a whole different level of sharpness retention compared to stainless. Comfortable and contoured handle, pleasant "click" on opening, and the clip can be switched to the other side. Just remember to regularly protect the cutting edge with some oil to prevent rust.

I bought this knife in blue because it was cheaper, and they look identical. Great tool for a gentleman or lady. Lightweight, nice, and well made from quality materials. The blade lock is probably an axis lock, where the locking pin is spring-loaded. You press it and you can close or open the blade. You can also open it with the thumb stud on the blade itself. It works smoothly and easily. I recommend it.

You can open it with the stud on the blade or with a slight wrist movement after pressing the lock pin. The mechanism works smoothly and easily. This is a knife for a gentleman or a lady.
