Bestechman Icebreaker Folding Knife - Black/Orange

Folding knife for everyday use (EDC) with a lightweight and ergonomic design. The Icebreaker model is equipped with a Drop-Point profile blade made of D2 tool steel, which provides durability, wear resistance, and good edge retention. The handle consists of scales made of aluminum in black color, featuring inserts of G10 laminate in orange. The thumb stud and Button Lock mechanism ensure convenient operation and a high level of safety during use.

D2 tool steel, PVD coating

The blade is made of D2 tool steel. The material used is characterized by good abrasion resistance, as well as low susceptibility to chipping and cracking. The blade is coated with a black PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) coating, which provides additional protection against corrosion.

Drop-Point profile blade, flat grind, thumb stud

The blade with a Drop-Point profile has a length of 80 mm and a thickness of 2.8 mm. The blade is executed in a high flat grind. The shape of the blade with a clearly marked belly ensures very good cutting efficiency and allows for tasks requiring high precision and accuracy. The double-sided thumb stud on the blade allows for smooth opening and convenient one-handed operation of the knife.

Handle made of aluminum, G10 laminate inserts, deep-carry clip

The ergonomically shaped handle is made from lightweight and durable aluminum. This material ensures adequate rigidity of the structure while maintaining a low weight, which is important for an everyday carry knife. The handle features G10 laminate inserts that enhance grip confidence. The deep-carry clip allows for discreet and secure carrying of the knife, and the ability to mount it on either side of the handle allows for adjusting its position to individual preferences. The slim design of the entire knife makes it sit well in the pocket and does not cause discomfort during everyday carrying.

Button Lock mechanism

The Button Lock stabilizes the blade in the open position, effectively preventing accidental folding. This makes using the knife safe, even during work in challenging conditions. The lock's design ensures intuitive and convenient operation with one hand.

D2 feature
D2
D2 is a high-carbon tool steel classified as semi-stainless, characterized by high wear resistance and the ability to maintain a thin, durable edge. It achieves a hardness of 57-62 HRC, which ensures long-lasting sharpness even with intensive use. Its chemical composition is a precisely selected combination of elements: carbon (1.4-1.6%), chromium (11-13%), molybdenum (up to 0.8%), vanadium (up to 1%), manganese (up to 1%), and silicon (up to 1%). The high carbon and chromium content ensures hardness and wear resistance, while molybdenum and vanadium improve the strength and durability of the cutting edge. Although D2 steel is not completely stainless, its corrosion resistance is sufficient to meet the requirements of most conditions of use. It is widely used in the production of mid-range and high-end knives, including handmade knives and cutting tools.
Button Lock feature
Button Lock
Button Lock (also known as Plunge Lock) is a locking mechanism in folding knives based on a spring button. When fully opened, the tang enters a notch at the base of the blade and locks it in the working position; when closed, the same element acts as a detent. The design allows for smooth opening and closing with one hand and increases safety, as it does not require the user to place their fingers on the blade line. Thanks to its simplicity and reliability, the Button Lock is often used in EDC knives and collector's models.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
PVD - Physical Vapor Deposition feature
PVD - Physical Vapor Deposition
PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating is a modern technology for applying ultra-thin layers of metal in a vacuum, which significantly increases the durability of knives. Thanks to this, the blade becomes highly resistant to scratches, abrasion, and corrosion, while gaining a matte surface that reduces glare. This process allows for aesthetic finishes in various colors, from deep black to gold, which do not wear off like classic paint. As a result, the knife retains its great appearance and full functionality even with intensive use.
