Bestechman Icebreaker Folding Knife - Black/Red

An everyday carry (EDC) folding knife with a lightweight and ergonomic design. The Icebreaker model features a Drop-Point blade made of D2 tool steel, which ensures durability, wear resistance, and good edge retention. The handle consists of black aluminum scales with red G10 laminate inserts. The thumb stud and Button Lock mechanism ensure comfortable handling and a high level of safety during use.

D2 tool steel

The blade is made of D2 tool steel. This material is characterized by good wear resistance and low susceptibility to chipping and cracking. The surface has been finished using the satin-finishing method, which gives it a semi-matte finish.

Drop-Point blade, flat grind, thumb stud

The blade, with a Drop-Point profile, is 80 mm long and has a thickness of 2.8 mm. The blade features a high flat grind. The blade shape, with a clearly defined bevel, ensures excellent cutting efficiency and allows for tasks requiring high precision and accuracy. Smooth opening and comfortable one-handed operation of the knife are made possible by a double-sided thumb stud on the blade.

Aluminum handle, G10 laminate inserts, deep-carry clip

The ergonomically shaped handle is made of lightweight and durable aluminum. This material ensures adequate structural rigidity while keeping the weight low, which is essential for an everyday carry knife. The handle features G10 laminate inserts that enhance grip. The deep-carry clip allows for discreet and secure carrying of the knife, and the ability to mount it on either side of the handle lets you adjust its position to suit your individual preferences. The slim design of the entire knife means this model fits well in a pocket and does not cause discomfort during everyday carry.

Button Lock mechanism

The Button Lock mechanism stabilizes the blade in the open position, effectively preventing it from accidentally folding. This makes the knife safe to use, even when working in challenging conditions. The lock’s design ensures intuitive and comfortable one-handed operation.

D2 feature
D2
D2 is a high-carbon tool steel classified as semi-stainless, characterized by high wear resistance and the ability to maintain a thin, durable edge. It achieves a hardness of 57-62 HRC, which ensures long-lasting sharpness even with intensive use. Its chemical composition is a precisely selected combination of elements: carbon (1.4-1.6%), chromium (11-13%), molybdenum (up to 0.8%), vanadium (up to 1%), manganese (up to 1%), and silicon (up to 1%). The high carbon and chromium content ensures hardness and wear resistance, while molybdenum and vanadium improve the strength and durability of the cutting edge. Although D2 steel is not completely stainless, its corrosion resistance is sufficient to meet the requirements of most conditions of use. It is widely used in the production of mid-range and high-end knives, including handmade knives and cutting tools.
Button Lock feature
Button Lock
Button Lock (also known as Plunge Lock) is a locking mechanism in folding knives based on a spring button. When fully opened, the tang enters a notch at the base of the blade and locks it in the working position; when closed, the same element acts as a detent. The design allows for smooth opening and closing with one hand and increases safety, as it does not require the user to place their fingers on the blade line. Thanks to its simplicity and reliability, the Button Lock is often used in EDC knives and collector's models.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
Satin feature
Satin
Satin finishing is one of the most popular blade finishes, achieved by grinding the steel with fine-grained abrasives. Parallel micro-scratches remain on the surface, giving the knife a technical, matte appearance. Satin finishing has both aesthetic and practical significance - a smoothed blade is easier to clean, and the slightly reduced friction promotes smoother cutting. Depending on the direction and intensity of polishing, different effects are achieved - from a matte finish to an almost mirror-like finish. Satin is valued in both utility and collector's knives because it emphasizes the structure and quality of the steel while maintaining functionality.
