Boker Plus Desertman Knife

Outdoor knife with a total length of 242 mm, crafted in Full Tang construction, featuring a tang running through the entire handle. The blade with a Spear-Point profile is made from Swedish Sandvik 12C27 steel and coated with a black titanium coating. The handle made from fibre-reinforced composite (GRP) and thermoplastic rubber (TPR) in sandy-brown color ensures a firm grip. The set includes a plastic sheath.

Sandvik 12C27 steel

The blade is made of Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel, which features good edge retention, very good corrosion resistance, and ease of sharpening. After heat treatment, it achieves a hardness level of 53–59 HRC, while offering good impact toughness.

Spear-Point profile blade, titanium coating

The blade with a Spear-Point profile has a length of 115 mm and a thickness of 4.2 mm. The blade is coated with a black, anti-corrosive titanium coating that gives it a matte appearance and reduces friction during cutting. The smooth cutting edge is achieved with a high flat grind, which works well for most outdoor applications.

Ergonomic handle, wide glass breaker

The ergonomically shaped handle is made from fibre-reinforced composite (GRP) and thermoplastic rubber (TPR) in sandy-brown color, ensuring a secure grip even with gloves. At the rear, the knife's tang protrudes beyond the scales and is shaped into a wide glass breaker, which can be used for emergency glass breaking and as an additional outdoor tool. The end of the handle also features two holes for threading a safety cord.

Sheath with eyelets

The set includes a fitted plastic sheath, equipped with a snap-secured strap to prevent accidental loss of the knife. The sheath is equipped with eyelets for multi-positional attachment to a belt or gear elements.

Boker

Militaria.pl is a premium dealer of Boker.

Boker is a German knife manufacturer with a tradition dating back to the 17th century, known for its distinctive chestnut tree logo – “Tree Brand.” In 1830, the company was already producing up to 2000 sabers per week, which were sent to battlefields across Europe. In the 19th century, it expanded its operations to the US, Canada, and Mexico, establishing recognizable subsidiaries. Today, the main factory in Solingen specializes in handcrafted collector's and utility knives, including those made of steel recovered from historical objects such as the Tripitz battleship. The brand offers four lines: Boker Manufaktur Solingen, Boker Plus, Magnum, and Arbolito. Boker products are valued by collectors, uniformed services, and chefs around the world.

TPR feature
TPR

TPR, or thermoplastic rubbeTPR, or thermoplastic rubber, is a material that combines the properties of rubber and plastic. It is flexible and durable, and is often used in the manufacture of tool handles, gaskets, footwear, and many other products, as it provides comfort, good grip and wear resistance.r, is a type of synthetic material that combines the properties of rubber and plastic. TPR is characterized by its flexibility and abrasion resistance.

12C27 feature
12C27
12C27 is a high-quality Swedish stainless steel developed by Sandvik (now Alleima), similar in chemical composition and mechanical properties to 440A steel. It has a very fine-grained structure, which improves its cutting properties and durability. The carbon content (0.52%) ensures adequate hardness, while chromium (14.5%) guarantees very good corrosion and abrasion resistance. The steel also contains manganese (0.6%), silicon (0.4%), phosphorus (up to 0.025%), and sulfur (up to 0.025%), which improves hardenability, strength, and structural stability while minimizing the risk of microcracks and brittleness. After heat treatment, the steel achieves a hardness of 53-59 HRC, offering good impact resistance and ease of sharpening. The steel is widely used in EDC, kitchen, hunting, and outdoor knives. It is characterized by high corrosion resistance, good edge retention, and ease of maintenance, making it a popular choice, especially among Scandinavian manufacturers and companies such as Kershaw.
Ti-Coated feature
Ti-Coated
Ti-Coated in Boker knives is a PVD coating in which a thin layer of titanium or its compounds, such as titanium nitride, is applied to the surface of the steel. This process creates a very hard, abrasion- and corrosion-resistant layer that does not affect the sharpness of the cutting edge. The blade surface gains a matte or metallic finish, often in black, gray, or gold, which gives the knives a distinctive look. Thanks to the low friction coefficient, cutting is smoother and the blade is easier to maintain. The Ti-Coated coating is used in tactical, outdoor, and EDC knives.
