Boker Plus Urban Trapper Gentleman Folding Knife

Light folding knife with a Drop-Point blade profile, designed by American knifemaker Brad Zinker. The model is maintained in a gentleman’s folder style, combining a slim silhouette with durable materials and solid construction. Compact dimensions and low weight make the tool ideal as part of a daily EDC equipment.

high-quality VG-10 stainless steel

The blade is made from Japanese VG-10 stainless steel, developed by the company Takefu Special Steel. The material is characterized by a combination of high corrosion resistance and excellent cutting properties. The carbon content ensures hardness, while chromium guarantees stainlessness and enhances wear resistance. This steel also contains vanadium, molybdenum, cobalt, silicon, and manganese, which improve its hardenability and resistance to micro-damage.

drop-point blade

The model features a blade with a Drop-Point profile. The characteristic blade shape with a slightly lowered spine line and a well-defined cutting edge provides good control during precise cuts and everyday utility tasks. The blade is finished with satining.

A blade length of 94 mm allows for convenient execution of most everyday EDC tasks, offering a good balance between compact dimensions and the working surface of the blade. The slim construction of the knife also facilitates precise guidance of the cutting edge during work.

wooden handle scales

The knife's construction is based on titanium liners that ensure rigidity and weight reduction. Cocobolo wood scales give the model a distinctive look reminiscent of classic EDC folders. The natural wood texture improves the secure grip and comfort of use during everyday work.

liner lock, flipper, IKBS system

Quick opening of the knife with one hand is enabled by a flipper working with the IKBS (Ikoma Korth Bearing System) pivot. The mechanism ensures smooth blade operation and high work culture during opening and closing of the knife. In the open position, the blade is locked using a proven Liner Lock that prevents accidental closure.

springy clip

Everyday carrying of the knife is facilitated by a clip that allows for tip-up position. The clip surface is finished with a Stonewash method, which reduces the visibility of minor usage marks and scratches.

Titanium feature
Titanium

A lightweight and extremely durable metal, resistant to corrosion and mechanical damage. In knives it is used in the manufacture of handles, clips or locks, making the whole structure sturdy, yet lighter than steel. In flashlights it is used for housings - it provides high resistance to impacts, scratches and weather conditions, while reducing the weight of equipment carried every day. Titanium is also hypoallergenic and bio-neutral, so it is used in travelware and eyeglass frames.

VG-10 feature
VG-10
VG-10 is a premium Japanese stainless steel developed by Takefu Special Steel specifically for knife production. It features a unique combination of high corrosion resistance and excellent cutting properties. Its carbon content (0.95-1.05%) ensures high hardness, while chromium (14.5-15.5%) guarantees stainlessness and increases abrasion resistance. This steel also contains vanadium (0.2-0.3%), molybdenum (0.9-1.2%), cobalt (1.3-1.5%), silicon (0.6%), and manganese (0.5%), which improve its strength, hardenability, and resistance to microdamage. After proper heat treatment, VG-10 achieves a hardness in the range of 59-61 HRC, which provides an optimal balance between long-lasting sharpness and ease of sharpening. The steel is slightly less resistant to abrasion than ATS-34/154CM steel, but offers better impact resistance, making it more resistant to cracks and chipping. Although it has high corrosion resistance, it can develop surface rust in unfavorable conditions. VG-10 is mainly used in the production of mid-range and high-end knives.
IKBS - Ikoma Korth Bearing System feature
IKBS - Ikoma Korth Bearing System
IKBS (Ikoma Korth Bearing System) is a ball bearing system developed by Flavio Ikoma and Rick Lal (Korth Knives), initially for butterfly knives. Instead of traditional rings and cages, it uses balls embedded in grooves around the pivot axis, which ensures smooth and light blade movement while maintaining stability. Thanks to its compact design, it can be used in various folding knives, and the balls are made of stainless steel or ceramic. The blade tension is adjusted with a pivot screw, and the biggest advantage of the system remains the smoothness of opening, which is appreciated by many manufacturers.
Stonewash feature
Stonewash
Stonewash is a blade finishing technique that involves treating steel in a drum filled with stones, ceramic abrasives, or beads. The impact of the material creates a characteristic, irregular pattern with micro-scratches, giving the effect of a matte, slightly “aged” surface with a raw, practical appearance. The finish gives the knife an aesthetic look and masks minor scratches and marks that occur during use, keeping the blade looking like new for longer. The matte texture reduces light reflections, which is valued in tactical and outdoor knives, and the micro-scratches can further reduce friction during cutting. Due to its durability, discreet appearance, and ease of maintenance, stonewash is popular in EDC, field, and tactical knives.
Satin feature
Satin
Satin finishing is one of the most popular blade finishes, achieved by grinding the steel with fine-grained abrasives. Parallel micro-scratches remain on the surface, giving the knife a technical, matte appearance. Satin finishing has both aesthetic and practical significance - a smoothed blade is easier to clean, and the slightly reduced friction promotes smoother cutting. Depending on the direction and intensity of polishing, different effects are achieved - from a matte finish to an almost mirror-like finish. Satin is valued in both utility and collector's knives because it emphasizes the structure and quality of the steel while maintaining functionality.

Phenomenal, beautiful knife, perfect for EDC. Light and quite slim, you hardly feel it in your pocket. Additionally, it opens very smoothly, with no issues. It also fits well in the hand, I am very satisfied with it.

It arrived whole and healthy, the knife matches the description, very sharp and handy for me. I mainly use it in the kitchen and it works great for that—light, sharp, just right for slicing and peeling, and additionally, you can't even feel it in your pocket in terms of weight. I recommend it.

The knife is gorgeous and unique, mainly due to the titanium handle, which, thanks to the large holes, basically weighs nothing (it's worth taking the knife apart and feeling this lightness for yourself). The blade is rather average, although quite long for the size of the whole knife when unfolded. The knife is delicate - from the beginning, you can feel some play at the joint between the blade and the handle. So it is not suitable for heavy tasks - more for light urban jobs: you can cut the string tying shoes together when trying them on at Decathlon, open an envelope or parcel, slice a steak... The clip is not very springy - after prolonged use in pants, it bent permanently and the screws came a little loose - I had to tighten them with a bit of Loctite. Still, handling Brad Zinker's creation is a delight for titanium enthusiasts. I lost my first one and immediately bought another. End of the story ;-P

The knife is quite small, but fits well in the hand. The wooden handle looks nice, and even more so in combination with Damascus steel :) Overall, a great impression. It opens very smoothly. The only issue is that the lock catches a bit when closing. Probably just a minor flaw of this particular piece. It should break in ;) I recommend it, it's worth it. As always, Boker does a great job packaging their more expensive knives. This time in a zipped pouch that can fit a few small items. Regards.

This isn't a knife for heavy work, but as an EDC gentleman's folder, it's perfect. Slim, lightweight, unnoticeable in the pocket. Especially the slimmer version 01BO722. Holds its edge well.

Great EDC. Good steel and materials, very light, very slim. One of my favorite knives. More of a pocket tool than a knife for specific tasks.

I chose the Grand, thinking it would be big. I was a bit disappointed, the knife is delicate. But I still recommend it because it is really nice.
