Overall, the jacket is great. After 4 years of use, I can list the pros and cons. PROS: Versatility -> from temperatures of -15 to +15 degrees, you can use it anywhere. Zippered vents under the arms provide ventilation. The material feels like it will never get damaged. The reinforced elbows also do their job. The quality is evident in the fact that after 4 years of hanging it daily by its sewn-in loop - it's still like new. The jacket is warm, versatile, the hood is adjustable so you can use it both with and without a helmet. The collar protects the neck well. CONS: The main zipper is of average quality. If you don't align the sides carefully when zipping it up, it can come apart. But it works. The second issue, which happened after two years, is the spot above the internal pocket where you can write your name and some information. The material meant for writing on, although strongly glued, started to peel off. Other than that, all good. Carinthia includes a large storage bag and something wonderful - a small pouch in which you can stuff the jacket when traveling. After taking it out, it's quite wrinkled for a while, but it straightens out on its own soon after. The product is generally expensive, but after 4 years I can say it's almost indestructible, which means it will probably last for a long time.
Carinthia MIG 4.0 Jacket - Olive
Olive insulated jacket featuring a waterproof PTFE membrane and a lining crafted from tough polyamide. The upper section utilizes Gore Windstopper windproof fabric, delivering outstanding durability against both moisture and abrasion, while ensuring excellent breathability. Developed in collaboration with law enforcement personnel.
Cordura reinforcements, IR coating, Techno Stretch inserts
The outer layer features an IR coating that minimizes infrared re-emission, making it significantly harder for night vision devices to detect the wearer and thereby enhancing concealment during nighttime operations. Cordura reinforcements positioned at the shoulders, elbows, and cuffs provide increased resistance to abrasion and tearing. For optimal mobility, Techno Stretch elastic panels are integrated into the torso and forearm zones, ensuring unrestricted freedom of movement.
G-Loft synthetic filling, ISO Mapping system
The jacket’s interior features a filling made from lightweight synthetic G-Loft down, ensuring warmth and comfort at temperatures as low as -15 deg. Celsius. The amount and distribution of insulation are determined by the ISO Mapping technique, which divides the body into specific thermal zones. Areas most exposed to cold, such as the torso, are insulated with 125 g/m2 of down, while the shoulders receive 80 g/m2. Even when wet, the insulation maintains its thermal performance.
Seven practical pockets
The MIG 4.0 version offers a total of 7 pockets for optimal utility:
- two front pockets, angled and zippered, lined with fleece for added comfort
- three sleeve pockets, each featuring a waterproof zipper
- two internal mesh pockets, each secured with a zipper
Waterproof zipper, high collar, vents, roomy hood
A waterproof, two-way zipper secures the jacket, enhanced with a chin guard and an interior wind flap for added protection. The high collar features a lining of warm fleece, offering both breathability and resistance to moisture. Underarm vents provide adjustable airflow. The jacket comes with a spacious hood lined with fleece, which is adjustable by two elastic drawcords. An extra hood pull at the back is fastened with a Velcro-secured tab.
Adjustable cuffs, velcro panels, compression pouch
Velcro-adjustable cuffs and an elastic hem provide an optimal fit to the user's body. Three Velcro panels are stitched to the shoulders and back, enabling the attachment of various patches and emblems such as national flags, unit insignia, or Morale Patches. The set also comes with a compression pouch.

Cordura is a material woven from durable nylon fibers, developed by DuPont. The structure of the material provides lightness and abrasion resistance, as well as weather resistance. Due to its properties, Cordura is widely used in tactical equipment.
Materials with IRR (Infrared Reflective) properties are designed to maximize the absorption and minimize the mission of infrared radiation, which is important for camouflage and avoiding detection by observation devices such as night vision devices.
G-Loft insulation is an advanced material consisting of a three-dimensional structure of hollow polyester fibers that trap dry air to form an effective thermal insulation layer. These fibers retain their shape thanks to a memory effect, allowing them to return to their original form after getting wet, washing and heavy use. G-Loft, used mainly in outdoor clothing and equipment, combines the characteristics of natural down and synthetic fill, offering excellent thermal insulation, lightness, resilience and moisture resistance.
ISO Mapping is a technology in sports and outdoor clothing that optimizes the placement of materials and insulation zones according to the thermal needs of the body. By analyzing areas that generate heat or are prone to heat loss, it provides better insulation, ventilation and protection, which increases the wearer's comfort during physical activity.
Techno Stretch is a fabric characterized by its elasticity and ability to conform to the wearer's body. The material provides wearing comfort, freedom of movement and durability, so it is often used in outdoor or sports clothing.
Gore Windstopper is a high-tech membrane developed by Gore that provides full wind protection while maintaining high breathability. The material effectively blocks wind, minimizing heat loss and providing thermal comfort in harsh weather conditions, and also offers protection from light rain. The membrane is used in outdoor and sports apparel.

World-class mastery, gentlemen. Worth every penny. Thin, yet very warm, very light, a thoughtful design, and it looks great. I recommend it.
-
I used it during cold and windy weather and you can immediately see that it is solid equipment. It insulates heat very well, even if you stay outside for a long time, you don't feel cold. The fit is comfortable, it doesn't restrict your freedom of movement, you can work or move actively without problems. The material seems very durable, it is not bothered by moisture or frequent use. The pockets are functional and well placed. The only drawback might be the weight and size, but this is compensated by the high level of comfort and good protection.
-
The jacket is warm but not suitable at all for use with equipment because the outer and inner materials are damaged by any contact with other materials. I expected more for the price, but honestly, I'm a bit disappointed because the jacket started pilling heavily after just a few uses. The fact that there is Cordura on the shoulders helps, but it's also missing on the sides of the jacket and inside at the bottom, where the tactical belt goes.
-
The jacket works great in winter at temperatures well below zero. It is durable, reinforced in the shoulder and elbow areas, and above all functional, with plenty of pockets and drawstring adjustments.
-
You can feel the quality of the jacket. Warm. However, I can't get the size to fit. Even the S size is too long, and the sleeves are stiff due to the zipper, making it feel tight. If someone has a more shapely figure, they will definitely be satisfied, even at this price.
-
Very good jacket, absolutely top shelf. Not too thick, yet provides excellent thermal comfort. The materials are very good, and with proper maintenance, this equipment will last for years.
-
Basically, this jacket, provided the style fits you, has only one downside, which is the price. Other than that, it's hard to find fault with anything. Both the workmanship and the materials and technologies used are top-notch. A perfectly thought-out design.
