Cold Steel 4-MAX Elite CPM-S35VN Folding Knife
Cold Steel 4-MAX Elite folding knife is an upgraded version of the Cold Steel 4-MAX knife, designed by renowned American knifemaker Andrew Demko. The Drop-Point profile blade is made of CPM-S35VN stainless steel with high corrosion and chipping resistance. The blade was finished using the Stonewash method, which gives a matte finish and reduces glare. The green-black colored handle is made of G10 laminate. The blade opens with a thumb stud on both sides, and the Tri-Ad Lock locks it in the open position while in use.
CPM-S35VN stainless steel
CPM-S35VN stainless steel, which is the successor to S30V steel, is produced using powder technology. It features high corrosion resistance, good sharpness retention and easier sharpening compared to S30V. A finer microstructure increases its resistance to chipping. After hardening, it reaches 58-61 HRC, combining edge durability with fracture resistance.
Drop-Point blade, Stonewash finish, jimping
The wide blade with Drop-Point profile is 101 mm long and 4.8 mm thick. The blade is brought out with a high flat grind, which improves cutting performance. The blade is finished using the Stonewash method, which gives a matte texture, reduces light reflections and masks minor traces of daily use. Notching (jimping) on the back of the knife makes it easier to rest the thumb and improves control while working. The blade's geometry provides good cutting efficiency while maintaining adequate strength.
Ergonomic G10 laminate scales mounted on a titanium framework
The knife's framework and back walk are made of lightweight and durable titanium. Ergonomically contoured handle scales are made of sandblasted G10 glass-epoxy laminate, resistant to mechanical damage and external factors. The texture of the scales ensures a secure grip even when the hand is wet or dirty. At the end of the handle there is a hole for interlacing the safety cable.
Tri-Ad Lock, convenient opening
The blade in the open position is secured by the Tri-Ad Lock system, which is an improved version of the classic Back Lock and considered one of the most durable locks in folding knives. The design is based on a stop pin that takes the forces acting on the blade and transfers them to the handle body, minimizing wear on the mechanism. The system automatically compensates for the natural working out, keeping the lock secure. On the blade there is a double-sided thumb stud, allowing the knife to be opened quickly with both the right and left hand.

Everyday comfortable carrying is ensured by a springy tip-up steel clip that allows the knife to be easily attached to a belt or the edge of a pocket. The clip can be mounted on either the right or left scales.

CPM S35VN
CPM S35VN is a stainless powder steel developed by Crucible Industries in collaboration with Chris Reeve, used in premium knives. It is an evolution of the popular S30V steel, offering a better balance between wear resistance, stainlessness, and ease of machining. Carbon (approx. 1.4%) is responsible for high hardness, while chromium (approx. 14%) gives the steel very good corrosion resistance, and vanadium (approx. 3%) extends edge life and improves cutting aggression. After hardening, it reaches 58-61 HRC, combining edge durability with fracture resistance. The steel retains its sharpness for a long time and is easy to sharpen, commonly used in EDC, outdoor, tactical, and collector's knives.
Tri-Ad Lock
Tri-Ad Lock is a lock developed by Cold Steel and Andrew Demko, considered one of the strongest systems in folding knives. Its key element is a stop pin, which takes the pressure from the blade and distributes it to the handle, protecting the lock from wear and overload. The mechanism is designed to self-adjust over time, which maintains the reliability of the lock even after prolonged use. In tests, it has proven resistant to loads of up to hundreds of pounds, confirming its durability.
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
Stonewash
Stonewash is a blade finishing technique that involves treating steel in a drum filled with stones, ceramic abrasives, or beads. The impact of the material creates a characteristic, irregular pattern with micro-scratches, giving the effect of a matte, slightly “aged” surface with a raw, practical appearance. The finish gives the knife an aesthetic look and masks minor scratches and marks that occur during use, keeping the blade looking like new for longer.
