Cold Steel 4-MAX Elite CPM-S35VN Folding Knife
Cold Steel 4-MAX Elite folding knife is an upgraded version of the Cold Steel 4-MAX knife, designed by renowned American knifemaker Andrew Demko. The Drop-Point profile blade is made of CPM-S35VN stainless steel with high corrosion and chipping resistance. The blade was finished using the Stonewash method, which gives a matte finish and reduces glare. The green-black colored handle is made of G10 laminate. The blade opens with a thumb stud on both sides, and the Tri-Ad Lock locks it in the open position while in use.
CPM-S35VN stainless steel
CPM-S35VN stainless steel, which is the successor to S30V steel, is produced using powder technology. It features high corrosion resistance, good sharpness retention and easier sharpening compared to S30V. A finer microstructure increases its resistance to chipping. After hardening, it reaches 58-61 HRC, combining edge durability with fracture resistance.
Drop-Point blade, Stonewash finish, jimping
The wide blade with Drop-Point profile is 101 mm long and 4.8 mm thick. The blade is brought out with a high flat grind, which improves cutting performance. The blade is finished using the Stonewash method, which gives a matte texture, reduces light reflections and masks minor traces of daily use. Notching (jimping) on the back of the knife makes it easier to rest the thumb and improves control while working. The blade's geometry provides good cutting efficiency while maintaining adequate strength.
Ergonomic G10 laminate scales mounted on a titanium framework
The knife's framework and back walk are made of lightweight and durable titanium. Ergonomically contoured handle scales are made of sandblasted G10 glass-epoxy laminate, resistant to mechanical damage and external factors. Tri-Ad Lock, convenient opening

The design is based on a stop pin that takes the forces acting on the blade and transfers them to the handle body, minimizing wear on the mechanism. The system automatically compensates for the natural working out, keeping the lock secure. On the blade there is a double-sided thumb stud, allowing the knife to be opened quickly with both the right and left hand.

CPM S35VN is a stainless powder steel developed by Crucible Industries in collaboration with Chris Reeve, used in premium knives. It is an evolution of the popular S30V steel, offering a better balance between wear resistance, stainlessness, and ease of machining. Carbon (approx. 1.4%) is responsible for high hardness, while chromium (approx. 14%) gives the steel very good corrosion resistance, and vanadium (approx. 3%) extends edge life and improves cutting aggression. After hardening, it reaches 58-61 HRC, combining edge durability with fracture resistance. A powerful knife, even by Cold Steel standards. Built like a tank and weighs like a tank :) Very well made and ergonomic. You can slice a tomato, open a can, and if needed, cut down a small tree with it. It has something of a primal force in it – which suits me perfectly.
