Cold Steel Folding Knife 5-MAX S35VN - OD Green

The Mega Folder folding knife boasts an overall length of 308 mm and features a robust, wide blade with a Drop-Point profile crafted from premium CPM-S35VN steel, offering exceptional edge retention as well as advanced resistance to wear and corrosion. The blade showcases a tough exterior achieved through the Blackwash finish. Built on the 5-MAX platform, this model incorporates a durable Tri-Ad Lock mechanism and handle scales fashioned from G10 laminate. Renowned knifemaker Andrew Demko designed the knife, with his signature laser-engraved on the blade to elevate its value for collectors.

CPM-S35VN Steel

Crafted from premium CPM-S35VN stainless steel (the advanced version of S30V), the broad blade benefits from powder metallurgy technology—offering superior corrosion resistance, outstanding edge retention, simplified sharpening, and, due to its finer grain structure, increased resistance to chipping.

blade with a drop-point profile, finished using the Blackwash method

Equipped with a Drop-Point blade profile, the knife features a length of 127 mm and a thickness of 4.8 mm. The blade’s plain edge is crafted with a high flat grind for optimal performance. Finished with the Blackwash method, the blade gains a matte look that minimizes glare and effectively hides marks from regular use. Blade geometry is designed to deliver very good cutting efficiency while preserving the necessary strength for demanding tasks, making the knife suitable for intensive use.

Double-sided thumb stud, Tri-Ad lock

A double-sided thumb stud attached to the blade facilitates fast and easy one-handed deployment with either the left or right hand. Once opened, the blade is secured by the Tri-Ad Lock, providing maximum safety during operation. Recognized as one of the most robust and reliable locking mechanisms available for folding knives.

G10 scales, steel clip

The scales on the ergonomically designed handle are crafted from highly durable, G10 laminate that withstands damage and adverse environmental conditions. A non-slip surface provides a firm and reliable hold, even during intensive tasks. At the base of the handle, a lanyard hole enables the attachment of a safety cord for added security.

Everyday portability is enhanced by a spring steel tip-up clip that enables effortless fastening of the knife to a belt or pocket edge. The clip is reversible, allowing for installation on either the right or left side.

CPM S35VN feature
CPM S35VN
CPM S35VN is a stainless powder steel developed by Crucible Industries in collaboration with Chris Reeve, used in premium knives. It is an evolution of the popular S30V steel, offering a better balance between wear resistance, stainlessness, and ease of machining. Carbon (approx. 1.4%) is responsible for high hardness, while chromium (approx. 14%) gives the steel very good corrosion resistance, and vanadium (approx. 3%) extends edge life and improves cutting aggression. After hardening, it reaches 58-61 HRC, combining edge durability with fracture resistance. The steel retains its sharpness for a long time and is easy to sharpen, commonly used in EDC, outdoor, tactical, and collector's knives.
Tri-Ad Lock feature
Tri-Ad Lock
Tri-Ad Lock is a lock developed by Cold Steel and Andrew Demko, considered one of the strongest systems in folding knives. Its key element is a stop pin, which takes the pressure from the blade and distributes it to the handle, protecting the lock from wear and overload. The mechanism is designed to self-adjust over time, which maintains the reliability of the lock even after prolonged use. In tests, it has proven resistant to loads of up to hundreds of pounds, confirming its durability.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
Blackwash feature
Blackwash
Blackwash is a finish that combines oxidation (graphite-black shade of steel) with the Stonewash technique. The blade is first coated with black and then treated in a drum with abrasive. This creates an aging effect - a dark background with lighter abrasions and micro-scratches. This gives the knife a raw, “used” look, masks scratches well, reduces light reflections, and works well in tactical knives. Thanks to its combination of practicality and aesthetics, Blackwash is popular in EDC, outdoor, and combat knives.
