8Cr13MoV stainless steel

Crafted from Chinese 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, the blades deliver an optimal blend of edge retention, resistance to corrosion, and ease of resharpening. Enhanced by precise heat treatment, they reach a hardness range of 57-58 HRC.

Clip Point profile blade, satin finish

The finely honed blade features a Clip-Point profile with a length of 152 mm and a thickness of 3.5 mm. Thanks to the flat grind, the edge offers superior cutting efficiency, while the short fuller along the spine reduces overall weight yet preserves rigidity and strength. With a satin finish, the blade gains a semi-matte appearance, delivering both visual appeal and improved scratch resistance during use.

GFN scales, flexible clip

Handle scales are crafted from rugged glass-fiber reinforced nylon (GFN), featuring an aggressive, non-slip texture for enhanced grip. At the end of the handle, a lanyard hole enables easy attachment of a lanyard for secure carry. Convenient daily carry is ensured by the flexible clip on the handle, making it possible to attach the knife to a belt or pocket edge.

Equipped with a double-sided thumb stud and a flipper, the knife can be quickly deployed. The flipper serves as a small cross guard when opened, offering protection by preventing the hand from sliding forward onto the blade.

Once in the open position, the blade is secured by a sturdy Spring Leaf Lock enhanced with an extra safety mechanism to prevent accidental closure. Releasing the lock is accomplished via a conveniently positioned slider on the handle.

8Cr13MoV (8Cr13) is a Chinese stainless steel equivalent to Japanese AUS-8 steel. It offers a good balance between corrosion resistance, ease of sharpening, and edge retention. The carbon content (approximately 0.8%) affects the hardness of the steel, while chromium (13%) provides very good corrosion and abrasion resistance. Additions of molybdenum (0.3%), vanadium (up to 0.2%), manganese (0.5%), and silicon (0.4%) improve abrasion resistance and the stability of the steel structure. 8Cr13MoV is often used in the production of knives, including by companies such as Spyderco and Benchmade, which manufacture in China. After proper heat treatment, 8Cr13MoV steel achieves a hardness of 56-58 HRC, which makes it a material with good cutting properties, easy to sharpen, and relatively resistant to wear.

Spring Leaf Lock is a folding knife lock by Cold Steel, combining a classic Liner Lock with an additional spring bar. When the blade is opened, the spring secures the liner, preventing accidental folding even during strong shocks. To close the knife, first move the safety guard aside and then release the lock. This mechanism increases safety and reliability during use.

    This knife has redefined the term "blade" xD My wife, when she saw it, just said: "you're crazy" xD Finally, something that fits well in the hand, a handy folding saber ;) The bearing action is very nice, and opening it is pure pleasure. Fairly well sharpened. But those dimensions—they impress, regardless of anything else. Compared to a few others (including the Pocket Bushman from CS)—pictures still don't do justice to its size. I absolutely recommend it, even urge you to get one! For defending your home or even a small village :D

    Mr. Wallace was inspired by the Far East, but I think he could have read Sienkiewicz's "With Fire and Sword." Luzon is almost Longinus Podbipięta's Zerwikaptur... Everything works perfectly, sharp out of the box. Opening is smooth, majestic for this size. What more can I say... VeniVidiVici...

    Great knife! Very good quality for this price. It may not be suitable for every task, but its sturdy, springy look is just impressive. It's huge, almost up to my elbow, and I can grip the handle with both hands. The steel is not bad, though not miraculous—appropriate for the price. Among the drawbacks, I can mention a very stiff liner, which bent several times all the way to the end, but after a few challenging returns to the previous position, the problem did not return. Very lightweight knife, even a bit intimidating. Very powerful, suitable for those who want a solid, masculine Cold Steel at an affordable price.

    My copy returned for a warranty claim but it was rejected. I don't argue with that because apparently that's just the nature of this knife—a matter of the lock. When opening the blade quickly, the liner lock engages so deeply that without something to tap it with, you can't close the blade. The service stated that with such a large blade, this is normal. Otherwise, it's a good piece of knife at a good price.

    The knife makes a big impression right out of the box, especially if you've only handled standard-sized folders before. It's quite sharp from the factory, and has some heft. Thanks to the weight and size of the blade, it opens very easily with the flipper, sometimes even too far and the liner lock jammed. The additional lock is a good idea at this size. Thanks to the affordable price, almost anyone can try the Luzon personally. I recommend it.
