Very good workmanship, a reliable Cold Steel brand, efficiently working lock and sharpening. Pleasure and ease of use, user satisfaction. I highly recommend it.
Cold Steel SR1 Tanto S35VN Folding Knife
Engineered for everyday carry (EDC), the folding knife draws inspiration from the renowned Survival Rescue Knife (SRK) model. Conceived by the American knifemaker Andrew Demko, the design incorporates a Tanto blade crafted from CPM S35VN powder steel, celebrated for its robust resistance to corrosion, along with an elegant satin finish enhancing the blade’s aesthetic. The handle, finished in green tones, is constructed from G10 laminate featuring a non-slip texture for secure handling. A double-sided thumb stud ensures swift deployment, while the reliable Tri-Ad Lock mechanism guarantees secure and stable use.
High-quality CPM S35VN powder steel
Crafted from CPM S35VN powder steel, the blade delivers outstanding corrosion resistance and maintains a sharp edge over long periods. Thanks to expert heat treatment, this steel reaches a hardness level of 58-61 HRC, ensuring the cutting edge stays razor-sharp for prolonged use and providing dependable performance in daily tasks.
Tanto blade with a satin finish
Featuring a blade with a Tanto profile, this model offers a length of 101 mm and a thickness of 5 mm. Its smooth edge incorporates a high flat grind for optimal performance. A semi-matte satin finish minimizes both light reflection and the appearance of minor scratches. Engineered for outstanding piercing capability and robust durability, the well-balanced blade is ideal for secure and more intensive knife use.
Ergonomically shaped G10 handle, reversible clip
The handle is crafted from G10 laminate, a composite material consisting of multiple layers of fiberglass reinforced with epoxy resin. Renowned for its exceptional strength, resistance to moisture, and lightweight nature, G10 ensures reliability in demanding environments. Featuring an ergonomic, non-slip contour, the short, single-sided cross guard effectively prevents the user’s hand from sliding onto the blade. Jimping along the back of the grip offers enhanced stability and control for precision work.
A steel tip-up clip is mounted on the knife, and its position can be switched to either side of the handle, ensuring easy and secure carry for both left- and right-handed operators.
Strong Tri-Ad Lock, double-sided stud
Equipped with the Tri-Ad Lock, an enhanced iteration of the Back-Lock mechanism, the knife delivers superior resistance to dynamic forces. Incorporating a stop pin that absorbs stress exerted on the blade and transfers it throughout the handle's frame, the Tri-Ad Lock is recognized as one of the toughest locking systems featured in folding knives. The lock also automatically compensates for wear, ensuring continued reliable operation, and when the blade is closed, it reliably prevents any unintended opening.
Opening is facilitated by a stud positioned on both sides of the blade, ensuring effortless deployment for both right-handed and left-handed users.

I finally got my hands on the knife I've been wanting for a long time. The downside is the price, but I think everyone already sees that. On the other hand, the quality, durability, and overall feel of the knife somewhat make up for this downside. The lock used by Cold Steel (tri lock something) gives a sense of security when you hold it in your hand, there is no involuntary fear as with thin liner locks (Luzon!). The steel is good and the knife arrived acceptably sharp. I have a feeling this knife will accompany me for a long time.

Exactly what I wanted, strong construction, good quality materials, very comfortable handle. The G10 is very rough but will probably wear off a bit during use, the clip holds very tightly (too tightly).

Everything is great—the handle, the blade, even the length and the fairly good weight for such a chopper. Before purchasing, you just need to ask yourself if you need 5mm thickness in a folding knife. It will shatter more than one board into chips, but it’s not a knife even for emergency tomato slicing. You can do it, but only halfway ;)

Massive above all, great mechanically

Very good, sturdy knife, the raw shapes give it character. It opens smoothly and lightly, folding it with one hand is not a problem. I recommend this product.

If you want a sturdy folder, it's simple, get a Recon 1, but if even that seems too weak, not Heavy Duty enough... then the SR1 comes to the rescue, this knife is an indestructible folding pry bar, and one that cuts.
