Cold Steel Ultimate Hunter S35VN Folding Knife - Black

A robust folding knife engineered in partnership with the esteemed designers: Andrew Demko and Lynn C. Thompson. Featuring a Drop-Point blade crafted from S35VN powdered steel, known for its outstanding corrosion resistance. The plain edge blade displays a refined satin finish. A black handle fashioned from G10 laminate provides a secure, non-slip grip. Effortless one-handed deployment is enabled by a dual-sided thumb stud, while the Tri-Ad Lock mechanism guarantees reliable and safe operation.

S35VN powder steel

Forged from premium CPM-S35VN powder steel, the blade excels in both corrosion resistance and edge retention. Enhanced by specialized heat treatment, the steel reaches a hardness of 58-61 HRC, delivering durable sharpness and dependable performance for everyday tasks.

Drop-Point blade with satin finish

Equipped with a Drop-Point blade, measuring 89 mm in length and 3.5 mm in thickness, this knife delivers robust reliability. A smooth cutting edge is produced thanks to the high flat grind, ensuring efficient slicing performance. Finished with a satin coating, the blade boasts a semi-matte surface that enhances both its appearance and resistance to scratches.

non-slip G10 laminate handle, steel clip

The handle boasts an ergonomic profile and is crafted entirely from rugged glass-epoxy laminate G10, comprised of two robust scales fastened with screws and reinforced by a dorsal spacer. Enhanced grip is provided by the textured G10, and in tandem with the contoured construction, guarantees a firm and secure hold. Designed with a small single-sided cross guard, the handle effectively shields the hand from sliding onto the blade. Additional control during use is supplied by jimping along the spine of the handle, offering reliable thumb support and improved maneuverability.

A tip-up steel clip is integrated into the knife, allowing for repositioning to either side of the handle and catering to both right- and left-handed users. A dedicated hole at the base of the handle enables the attachment of a lanyard or keychain.

Tri-Ad Lock, double-sided stud

In the open state, the blade is held securely by the Tri-Ad Lock, an advanced iteration of the Back-Lock mechanism that offers enhanced resistance to dynamic stress. Recognized as one of the most resilient and reliable locks available for folding knives, the Tri-Ad Lock offers exceptional safety against accidental deployment when the knife is closed. The presence of a double-sided thumb stud enables rapid and effortless deployment of the blade.

CPM S35VN feature
CPM S35VN
CPM S35VN is a stainless powder steel developed by Crucible Industries in collaboration with Chris Reeve, used in premium knives. It is an evolution of the popular S30V steel, offering a better balance between wear resistance, stainlessness, and ease of machining. Carbon (approx. 1.4%) is responsible for high hardness, while chromium (approx. 14%) gives the steel very good corrosion resistance, and vanadium (approx. 3%) extends edge life and improves cutting aggression. After hardening, it reaches 58-61 HRC, combining edge durability with fracture resistance. The steel retains its sharpness for a long time and is easy to sharpen, commonly used in EDC, outdoor, tactical, and collector's knives.
Tri-Ad Lock feature
Tri-Ad Lock
Tri-Ad Lock is a lock developed by Cold Steel and Andrew Demko, considered one of the strongest systems in folding knives. Its key element is a stop pin, which takes the pressure from the blade and distributes it to the handle, protecting the lock from wear and overload. The mechanism is designed to self-adjust over time, which maintains the reliability of the lock even after prolonged use. In tests, it has proven resistant to loads of up to hundreds of pounds, confirming its durability.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
Satin feature
Satin
Satin finishing is one of the most popular blade finishes, achieved by grinding the steel with fine-grained abrasives. Parallel micro-scratches remain on the surface, giving the knife a technical, matte appearance. Satin finishing has both aesthetic and practical significance - a smoothed blade is easier to clean, and the slightly reduced friction promotes smoother cutting. Depending on the direction and intensity of polishing, different effects are achieved - from a matte finish to an almost mirror-like finish. Satin is valued in both utility and collector's knives because it emphasizes the structure and quality of the steel while maintaining functionality.
