Cold Steel Ultimate Hunter S35VN Folding Knife - Orange

A rugged folding knife engineered in partnership with distinguished designers: Andrew Demko and Lynn C. Thompson. The Drop-Point blade is crafted from S35VN powder steel, known for its excellent resistance to corrosion. Featuring a smooth blade with a satin finish, the knife incorporates an orange handle constructed from G10 laminate with a non-slip texture for enhanced grip. Deployment is enabled by a double-sided thumb stud, while the Tri-Ad Lock mechanism guarantees secure operation.

powder steel S35VN

Forged from premium CPM-S35VN powder steel, the blade exhibits outstanding corrosion resistance and edge retention. The steel, enhanced by heat treatment, reaches a hardness of 58-61 HRC, delivering exceptional sharpness longevity and reliable performance for daily tasks.

Drop-Point blade with satin finish

Equipped with a Drop-Point profile, the blade measures 89 mm in length and 3.5 mm in thickness. A smooth cutting edge is achieved through a high flat grind, delivering excellent slicing capability. The satin finish lends the blade a semi-matte surface for enhanced visual appeal and provides improved resistance to scratches.

non-slip G10 laminate handle, steel clip

The handle features an ergonomic contour and is crafted entirely from highly durable glass-epoxy laminate G10, consisting of two robust slabs fastened together with screws and reinforced with a dorsal spacer. Enhanced grip texture on the G10 scales provides superior traction, ensuring a secure hold when combined with the handle’s ergonomic shape. The construction incorporates a modest single-sided cross guard that effectively prevents the user’s hand from sliding onto the blade. Positioned on the spine of the handle, jimping (notches) offers a reliable thumb rest, giving better blade control during precision cutting tasks.

A tip-up steel clip is attached to the knife, offering the flexibility to mount it on either side of the handle to accommodate both right- and left-handed users. An integrated lanyard hole at the handle’s end allows for secure attachment of a lanyard or keyring.

Tri-Ad Lock, double-sided thumb stud

A Tri-Ad Lock mechanism, an advanced variant of the Back-Lock with superior dynamic load resistance, secures the blade in the open position. Recognized as one of the most robust and reliable locks available for folding knives, the lock system provides exceptional protection against unintentional blade deployment. The double-sided thumb stud ensures fast, effortless blade access.

CPM S35VN feature
CPM S35VN
CPM S35VN is a stainless powder steel developed by Crucible Industries in collaboration with Chris Reeve, used in premium knives. It is an evolution of the popular S30V steel, offering a better balance between wear resistance, stainlessness, and ease of machining. Carbon (approx. 1.4%) is responsible for high hardness, while chromium (approx. 14%) gives the steel very good corrosion resistance, and vanadium (approx. 3%) extends edge life and improves cutting aggression. After hardening, it reaches 58-61 HRC, combining edge durability with fracture resistance. The steel retains its sharpness for a long time and is easy to sharpen, commonly used in EDC, outdoor, tactical, and collector's knives.
Tri-Ad Lock feature
Tri-Ad Lock
Tri-Ad Lock is a lock developed by Cold Steel and Andrew Demko, considered one of the strongest systems in folding knives. Its key element is a stop pin, which takes the pressure from the blade and distributes it to the handle, protecting the lock from wear and overload. The mechanism is designed to self-adjust over time, which maintains the reliability of the lock even after prolonged use. In tests, it has proven resistant to loads of up to hundreds of pounds, confirming its durability.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
Satin feature
Satin
Satin finishing is one of the most popular blade finishes, achieved by grinding the steel with fine-grained abrasives. Parallel micro-scratches remain on the surface, giving the knife a technical, matte appearance. Satin finishing has both aesthetic and practical significance - a smoothed blade is easier to clean, and the slightly reduced friction promotes smoother cutting. Depending on the direction and intensity of polishing, different effects are achieved - from a matte finish to an almost mirror-like finish. Satin is valued in both utility and collector's knives because it emphasizes the structure and quality of the steel while maintaining functionality.
