The Direct Action Dragon Egg is a 25-liter patrol pack designed for both tactical missions and daily activities. Constructed from robust 500D Cordura, it features a sturdy carry handle crafted from 5 meters of 550 paracord for comfortable hand transport.
The Dragon Egg includes three zippered compartments. The rear compartment is specifically designed to hold a hydration bladder or a laptop with a screen size up to 15.6", protected by a padded sleeve.
The roomy main compartment is also suitable for a hydration bladder, featuring a dedicated attachment point and exit port for a drinking tube and mouthpiece. Inside, a large mesh pocket provides additional storage.
Within the front compartment, users will find a comprehensive organizer with two pockets, ideal for efficiently storing EDC items. A flat mesh pocket with a zipper is sewn onto the front wall for added organization.
Side-mounted, partially stretchable pockets are designed to hold bottles. The front of the pack sports a 10 x 5 cm velcro panel for patches or emblems, as well as a discreet flat pocket secured with a zipper beneath the velcro.
A laser-cut panel on the Dragon Egg offers MOLLE/PALS compatibility. Its streamlined shape ensures a more compact profile compared to standard packs of similar capacity, greatly enhancing comfort when worn with ballistic vests or on a duty belt.
D-Rings on the straps and pack top, along with daisy chain loops, allow for convenient attachment of accessories. Compression straps located on the sides and bottom further enhance load stability. The use of YKK zippers and Duraflex buckles from WooJin guarantees long-lasting dependability.
A carrying system with contoured, length-adjustable straps and fast release capability, complemented by sternum and hip belts, delivers optimal weight distribution and pack stability. The back panel incorporates the Combat Vent System—profiled foam covered in mesh with multiple air channels for superior airflow.

I am very satisfied – the reviews I read were accurate. The backpack looks great, is durable and versatile – I have used it both on trips and for everyday use in the city. At first, I was surprised that the main compartment is not as spacious as I expected from its external appearance; however, the front pocket holds almost as much… This is not a drawback, you just have to get used to it – even larger items can easily fit into the front pocket (which distinguishes this backpack from other models, where the main compartment is large and the front pocket is small). Initially, I had doubts about the color – it was supposed to be coyote, but it looks like real brown (this is not a coyote tan shade!). The side bottle pockets are very practical – a 1.5-liter PET bottle fits freely, and you can grab a smaller 0.75-liter bottle without taking off the backpack – for me, this is the biggest advantage during longer hikes. I also rate the hip belt positively – often criticized in reviews, but although it is narrow and does not have padding (unlike the larger 30L version), it still provides good relief when carrying loads during walks.

First, the bottom compression straps are equipped with plastic buckles that cannot be detached or hidden, which means the backpack always rests on them when you set it down. Second, the backpack seems a bit less spacious than other models with the same stated capacity. How much you can fit depends on the type of items you pack – soft clothes fit well, but after packing a laptop, notebooks, a jacket, and extra gear, the backpack fills up quickly. The front compartment offers the most space, but if you load it up, the second compartment becomes cramped.
