Main compartment, multiple pockets, organizer

The main compartment, secured with a two-way YKK zipper, offers ample space for personal essentials, core medical gear, or a light jacket. Inside, a zippered mesh pocket is provided, along with a Velcro-mounted organizer featuring elastic loops and three slim, flat pockets. MOLLE/PALS webbing on the side wings enables the addition of extra equipment. A zippered pocket is located on the front panel, while the interior includes an extra pocket ideal for documents. The Helikon-Tex Bandicoot supports the Versatile Insert System, making it compatible with a range of organizer inserts.

Velcro panel

A front-mounted Velcro panel enables the attachment of various patches or emblems, including national flags, unit insignias, or morale patches, allowing for a customized appearance of the pack.

Adjustable carrying strap

The carrying system features a fully adjustable waist strap, fastened with a rugged Woojin buckle for reliable security. For added versatility, the strap is entirely detachable, allowing the pack to be carried on a trouser belt if preferred.

MultiCam represents an advanced camouflage pattern introduced in 2002 by Crye Precision, a US-based company, in collaboration with the United States Army Soldier Systems Center (Natick Labs) as part of the Objective Force Warrior initiative.     This is already my third waist pack from Helikon. I already have a black Bandicoot and a green Possum. This time I went for the Multicam camouflage. The quality is, of course, very good, and the camouflage pattern is also reproduced excellently. The advantage of the larger Bandicoot over the Possum is the detachable hook-and-loop panel, while the Possum is more comfortable to wear due to its smaller size. Overall, it’s hard not to keep buying them.
