Great jacket! The best money I've ever spent. Very warm – it was perfect this winter. It's also comfortable and functional. It's durable – I used it while working in the forest – branches are no problem for it. In the mountains, it kept me warm during breaks. I recommend it!
Helikon-Tex Level 7 Climashield Apex 100 g Jacket - Coyote
A Coyote-colored winter jacket engineered for superior insulation and effective protection against severe cold. Outfitted with Climashield Apex synthetic insulation, which maintains its insulating capabilities even when damp, and constructed with an outer layer featuring Rip-Stop weave for enhanced resistance to tears. Developed in alignment with the ECWCS (Extended Cold Weather Clothing System) specifications, this jacket functions as the ultimate, outer insulating shell in extreme environments. Features include a stowable hood along with multiple practical pockets.
Climashield Apex Insulation and Outer Material
A filling of lightweight synthetic insulation Climashield Apex with a density of 100 g/m2 delivers reliable thermal protection, even during intense cold. The insulation maintains its effectiveness even when wet, dries rapidly, and compresses easily for storage in the included compression sack. Crafted from 100% Nylon with a Rip-Stop weave, the outer shell offers enhanced durability and resistance to abrasions and tearing. An added teflon coating boosts the jacket’s resistance to light rainfall and repels dirt.
Spacious Pockets and Velcro-fastened Cuffs
Featuring a total of 5 large pockets, the jacket provides ample storage space:
- Two fleece-lined, chest-level pockets secured with YKK zippers and equipped with dividers for a phone or compact electronic gear
- An internal zippered pocket positioned on the left side at chest level
- Two inner mesh pockets located at the lower section to expedite the drying of damp items
Sleeves include elastic cuffs that are adjustable and secured with Velcro, enabling an adaptable fit for varying clothing layers.
Stowable Hood, Velcro Panels, and Elastic Drawstrings
A fully adjustable hood designed to accommodate helmets and hats is integrated into the jacket, conveniently stowed within the collar and secured with a double zipper. The full-length closure utilizes a dual YKK zipper, enabling access to belt-mounted gear without the need to unzip the jacket entirely. Velcro patches are positioned on the shoulders for attaching patches, insignia, or Morale Patches. For an optimal fit and to minimize heat loss, the lower hem features elastic drawstrings with toggles.

The jacket is incredibly lightweight, yet it provides excellent warmth. It appears to be well-made, and the insulation keeps in heat very well even on damp days. The large pockets and hidden hood are very functional. Overall, I rate the price-to-quality ratio very highly.

Five stars, but with a small minus. An additional inner pocket with a zipper would be useful. This is already my second jacket like this, which speaks to its quality. The first one is tailored "to size," so not a lot fits underneath. This time, I bought a size larger so that, in line with its name, it would serve as another layer, and it performed excellently this winter. Big plus for Militaria, as I bought it on Sunday evening and by Monday morning it was already in the parcel locker.

The Helikon-Tex Level 7 Climashield Apex 100 g jacket is a very well-designed model that provides high thermal comfort while keeping the weight low. The Climashield Apex insulation effectively protects against the cold, while the jacket remains lightweight and does not restrict movement. The outer material provides good protection against wind and moisture, which is useful in more challenging weather conditions. The cut is comfortable and well-thought-out, and the placement of the pockets increases its functionality for daily use and in the field. The whole jacket is solidly and aesthetically made, with attention to detail. This is a very good choice for those looking for a warm yet lightweight technical jacket.

This is one of the best jackets in this category. I am very satisfied! The size is correct, not underestimated like with Chinese models. I definitely recommend it. The price is indeed high, but the jacket certainly deserves it.

Very comfortable and practical jacket. Worn alone and as a second layer under the M65 without a liner. During the current frosts (-10/15), it was enough to wear it alone with something thin underneath. Very practical drawstrings in the pockets – you can tighten the hood without taking your hands out. Comfortable to wear under a military rain jacket. After removing the Velcro, traces remain, but they are only visible up close (the Velcro bothered me under the jacket and on a daily basis). Worth the money.

Great, very well-made jacket. I bought the Flecktarn camouflage version and it works very well for nature photography. On the one hand, it's not the thickest jacket in the world, but on the other – with a fleece underneath and a warm undershirt, I could sit still for 2 hours at a perceived temperature of around -10°C. I haven't had a chance to test it in heavy rain yet, but a two-hour photographic 'ambush' in light snow with rain presented no problems at all. What I like most about it: the high, fleece-lined collar (practically no need for a neck gaiter/scarf) and the two-way zipper combined with internal pockets (perfect, for example, for taking out gloves). If it had 'vents' under the armpits (something very useful when hiking), it would be, in my opinion, the perfect jacket.

The jacket is light and at the same time warm. If you follow the rules of dressing and use it properly, it meets the expectations placed on it. It is warm and practical and seems solid. Unfortunately, the price is its biggest downside...
-
The jacket is warm and functional down to minus 5 degrees, with a short sleeve I only walk around the city. The zipper is a bit hard to fasten but otherwise everything is fine. I would buy it again.
-
The jacket is lightweight, warm, and made of high-quality materials, and it is very comfortable. I haven't noticed any flaws. It also comes with a compression sack, which makes carrying and storing it easier. The jacket has functional pockets and a hood hidden in the collar.

I am very satisfied with the purchase of this jacket. The jacket is comfortable, lightweight, and at the same time provides a lot of warmth. I had some difficulty choosing the right size because the manufacturer uses two systems: American and European, and this is not clearly described on the website. The size chart is similar to the American one. I am 176 cm tall and weigh 86 kg – size L was perfect for me (it corresponds to American size S). There is also the possibility to wear an additional layer, e.g. a fleece, under the jacket.

I bought the Helikon TEX Level 7 jacket. I have already used it on a frosty night at -7 degrees; I was wearing two layers – a T-shirt and this jacket. I felt warm, comfortable, and light. The jacket looks modern and fashionable. It is very ergonomically designed. I rate it 5 stars.
-
Great jacket, I usually choose size L / 50/52, I am 183 cm tall and weigh 81 kg, and I am slim – size L fits perfectly (I also have other Helikon jackets and pants, this size is always right!). Putting the jacket into the compression sack was a bit tricky, but I managed in the end. You can still wear a sweater or fleece under the jacket without feeling uncomfortable. Pockets, adjustable hood from the inside – amazing, the collar fits comfortably and does not press. The jacket rustles a bit more due to the impregnated fabric compared to the British thermal jacket I have used, but that one doesn’t have RipStop and is a bit thinner. In summary: this is another excellent product from HelikonTex. Highly recommended, especially at this price at Militar.eu!
-
The jacket is really warm and very comfortable, but I am disappointed with the quality of the details. After a short period of use, the cord with the plastic handle at the zipper, which made closing the jacket easier, broke off. For a product at this price, I expected better workmanship and greater durability of the elements.

I've worn this jacket for one season, it retains heat very well while being incredibly lightweight. The jacket's cut is very optimal, allowing you to carry various things under it without any problem.
