This jacket pleasantly surprised me. I already have the Helikon M-65, but I was looking for something more stylish for the city and work. The jacket has a lining, so it's not as light as I expected, which means it probably won't be suitable for hot weather. It has a lot of pockets—even more than I need, but I consider that a plus. It's quite fitted, although there is no drawstring at the waist. The material looks solid, similar to the fabric of the Pilgrim model. The jacket looks good, is comfortable to wear, and costs less than other jackets of this type, so it's really a worthwhile purchase. I'm 180 cm tall and weigh 74 kg, and I chose size M. You can wear it over several layers, but it fits well even over just a shirt.

In my opinion, it’s a cool option, though it could use a bit of ventilation like in the company’s other jackets, as well as drawstrings in the middle and at the bottom. Still, considering its different intended use, even a nice fast setup fits in, and although there seems to be space only for 9mm magazines, that’s a downside if you want to carry them on the side where the hook-and-loop pockets are. A great feature is the waist bag in the inner pocket, where you can hide documents and more. I recommend the green-and-black color because it really looks awesome 😀

I bought this jacket with the period from autumn to spring in mind—for light trips, walks with the dog, and as a versatile winter outer layer for the city and the trail. I probably wouldn’t take it on more demanding expeditions because it is a bit heavy, but for relaxed camping and campsite use it works great. It keeps you warm and offers plenty of functional pockets. It does not have a removable lining, but the hood can be tucked into the collar. At 179 cm tall and 84 kg, I chose size L, which turned out to be slightly too big, though the adjustable cuffs make up for that—in winter I can easily wear extra layers underneath, and for shorter outings I often manage even without gloves. Velcro was replaced with buttons, so I think this jacket will serve me well for many years to come.

Snagged at a bargain price too.. ;) :) A jacket with a million pockets.. nicely made, high-quality materials.. the Versa Stretch inserts are a great idea.. they slimmed down, for example, the hood when it is hidden in the collar..

The jacket is warm and comfortable, perfect for spring/autumn. It is tailored in such a way that if you put on something thicker underneath, it feels a bit tight, so I would not recommend it for winter.

For better understanding: I am 1.76 m tall, weigh 87 kg, and have a chest circumference of 112 cm. I needed a jacket for transitional weather. I chose size M (EU), because previously, with the Woodsman Shirt from Helikon-Tex in size L (EU), I had to shorten the sleeves by 3 cm, but here in M, that's not the case. A regular t-shirt under the jacket is no problem. However, when I put on a flannel shirt, the sleeves are a bit tight (maybe because the jacket is new). When I also added a fleece vest over the shirt, I could fasten the jacket, but I felt definite pressure. The large number of pockets is a definite advantage, but in my opinion, the front lower pockets could be about 2 cm deeper. I have to wait until autumn to really find out if this was the right jacket choice.

The Helikon-Tex M65 jacket is the best jacket I have owned so far. Solidly made, top-quality materials. Lots of useful pockets, a hood with good adjustment, and also a 'mini kidney bag' which comes in handy during trips.
