These Helikon-Tex trousers turned out to be a perfect choice for me — just like discovering the militaria store. When it comes to outdoor activities, I focus mostly on trekking, but I always look at it from a prepper’s perspective as well. I prefer to keep the most essential items with me, such as a flashlight, a pocket knife, or keys, instead of carrying them in a backpack, because during a hike it is easier to take off or lose a backpack than your trousers. That is exactly why this model suits me so well — because of the cut, the quality of the fabric, and its durability. If you have a similar approach, the Pilgrim Anorak will most likely be one of the best options. As for the size: at 184 cm tall, with a 105 cm waist and weighing 90 kg, size XL fits me perfectly.

Typical Helikon - solid, practical, comfortable - although I had to lose some weight to fit into them, the cut is also typical Helikon, meaning for people with a normal, not dwarfish, body shape. I've been using them for a few years as my main forest pants and so far there has been no wear or fraying anywhere. Ventilation is quite good, the pleated pockets do their job just as promised, overall there is nothing to complain about, I recommend them.

These pants just arrived for me and... after unpacking the package, I was pleasantly surprised: they fit perfectly (size 32/32 for my 1.70 m and 71 kg), the color is great, and the high back is a big advantage for me. I will definitely order more colors. At first, I was delighted with Fjällräven clothing, but the prices are high, especially if they're going to be worn outdoors, and these pants have the same composition and are very comfortable. Big thanks to Helikon – I plan to expand my collection ;-)

These pants are great, I slid a total of 35m down a cliff and didn't even get a scrape. I've already climbed several harder and easier peaks in them. They are also my basic pants for bushcraft. I highly recommend them.

Outdoor pants are comfortable and practical. Besides that, I also have the Woodsman model, but for longer trips I need more pockets – Pilgrim does well in this regard. I deliberately chose brown pants because I already have too many clothes in green. 😉 However, I don't really like the contrasting inserts on the legs. It would be great if there was also a solid brown version of these pants, like the taiga green version. To sum up: the brown version is really a good choice, combining comfort and solid workmanship!

I am very satisfied with the purchase. Leaving aside the cut or pocket layout—these are really individual preferences, though I have no complaints—the most important thing is that the pants proved themselves in tough conditions. Pushing through the forest, building a shelter, sparks from the campfire, various weather conditions (although in full sun they became heavy—probably like any pants of this type). The positive reviews are not exaggerated, it is really worth it.

Durable "workhorses" for the forest, the outdoors, the garden or for work. As for the pockets, you need to learn or get used to them a bit. I have the impression that the material loses color quickly (just like the SMOCK). It doesn't affect use at all, but at this price, it's a bit of a shame.

The trousers are generally very good. I own many products from Helikon Tex. However, I have reservations about the pocket construction. The side pockets for the hands are so narrow at the top that it’s difficult to put your hand in, and taking anything out, like keys, is almost impossible. This is very irritating. The thigh pockets are also too small – if I put my wallet in there, nothing else will fit. This is definitely not enough space, especially as they should hold more things. I also noticed the lack of a pleat in the front of the thigh pocket, while there is such a pleat in the back – in the old Bundeswehr trousers even the front had this solution. Really, the pockets are the weakest point of these trousers. Outdoor trousers should provide more functional space, and here it’s simply lacking – it’s tight, narrow, and impractical.

The Helikon Pilgrim pants are very durable and quite water-resistant. I wear them in winter and autumn when cycling and everything is fine. I have various pants from Helikon (Versa Stretch and UTP PolyCotton Stretch Rip-Stop) and I think the Helikon Pilgrim are the most rugged. I don’t like the location of the side pocket with a zipper, which is just above the button pocket (in the UTP PolyCotton Stretch Rip-Stop pants the pockets are arranged brilliantly).
