Helikon-Tex SAS Smock Duracanvas Jacket - Earth Brown

Earth Brown color smock style jacket crafted from robust Duracanvas material. Designed to be waxed for enhanced waterproofing, the fabric increases defense against moisture, rain, and abrasion. The design draws inspiration from outerwear used by British Army SAS units, featuring a relaxed fit that accommodates multiple clothing layers underneath.

8 spacious pockets

Outfitted with 8 generously sized pockets, the smock offers 2 slanted chest cargo pockets secured with Canadian buttons and 2 hip pockets featuring nylon mesh linings. Special loops inside each chest pocket allow for the attachment of smaller equipment, helping to prevent accidental loss. Additional paracord loops are situated on both sides at the hem of the jacket.

two-way zipper and adjustable hood

Secured with a two-way zipper, the jacket provides versatile closure options. The lightweight hood can be adjusted in 2 planes, ensuring an optimal fit to the head according to weather conditions or the type of hat worn.

elastic drawstrings and vents

    I recommend this jacket to everyone. The pockets are large and spacious. The cuffs protect against drafts and also give the jacket an interesting look. The underarm vents and the two-way zipper make it possible to wear the jacket even in high temperatures. The material provides good protection from the wind. It also handles brief drizzle or moisture, but in heavier rain it absorbs water quite quickly - I recommend waxing the jacket at least in key areas; it changes the appearance, but gives better protection from the rain. I am quite tall and broad-shouldered, and I often wear the jacket with two thermal layers and a fleece, yet it is still very roomy and does not restrict my movement in any way.

    Very high quality jacket. Thoughtfully designed pockets. The jacket has a loose fit, but a big advantage is the multi-level adjustment. You can adjust it to your figure or the clothes you wear under the jacket. For me, it's suitable for summer and spring seasons due to the thin material. Of course, you can wear something thicker underneath and use it at lower temperatures. I had no problem with the size. I normally wear M and here M also fits. Plus for the appearance. You don't see such jackets on the streets. I recommend it even at the regular price.

    The Helikon Smock jacket has earned my appreciation thanks to its high-quality craftsmanship, thoughtful cut, and large number of spacious pockets that allow you to comfortably carry your gear. Its lightness, versatility, and the ability to adjust the hood and circumference are also appreciated. It is resistant to light rain and provides good protection against the wind. For my body size of 188 cm / 100 kg, I chose the 3XL size and there's plenty of room without a thick underside layer, but I think that's the point of this jacket.

    I have never had such a great jacket! I have only been using it for one day, and I am already delighted with it. The materials and workmanship are of a very high standard, and the cut itself is excellent. I also bought Fjallraven Greenland wax to protect the areas most exposed to rain, although the jacket already has a factory-applied water-repellent coating. It protects very well against the wind — it was quite windy this morning, and I did not feel it at all. I bought it with the autumn-winter season in mind, and with proper layering it should perform excellently. I also plan to pair it with a high-quality Helikon Tex sweatshirt. As for value for money, it is hard to find anything better. I also really like the Taiga Green color, and I expect the jacket to work well both in the forest and for everyday use. Great credit to the manufacturer — I definitely recommend it, because it is hard to be disappointed with it. I am 180 cm tall, weigh 78 kg, and size L fits perfectly — even when worn over just a T-shirt it is not too loose, despite its cut. Thank you!

    A great jacket with lots of well-thought-out solutions. The biggest advantage is the pockets: there are 4 hip pockets and 4 chest pockets, and the inner ones on the chest are really very spacious. Obviously, under normal conditions you do not pack as much into it as into a backpack, but if the situation calls for it, you can stuff a huge amount of gear in there. The material feels very solid, and a big plus is that it can be waxed normally. The hood is quite good, and the underarm vents really do the job when it gets hotter while walking. It is also worth choosing a size larger than usual, because then the pockets work better and you can comfortably use extra thermal layers without restricting movement. For the forest and outdoor use in general, this is an absolutely brilliant choice, although for the city I still prefer the classic M65.

    I needed a lightweight jacket with plenty of pockets and I managed to find it here. The quality of workmanship is at a good level, and the zippers open smoothly and without any problems. My usual size L turned out to be suitable, and there is enough room under the jacket for a sweater without any trouble. The jacket protects well against the wind, but I haven't had a chance to test its waterproofness yet.
