When buying this jacket, you need to know there are no compromises here—everything is made to be as small and lightweight as possible. It is well made, but when compressing it tightly into the pocket, the seams raise concerns about whether they might eventually give way. The material is delicate and needs to be handled with care, but it doesn’t appear cheap. The hood fits the head perfectly, and the zipper goes up right under the nose. The jacket is cut rather loosely and is relatively long. The cuffs are quite narrow compared to the width of the sleeves, although they fit almost perfectly at the wrist. During very intense physical activity, you can actually get quite warm in it. There are many online comparisons between the Tramontane and Windrunner jackets from Helikon. It is very wind-resistant and will also withstand light rain (for a while). To ensure even greater thermal comfort, I recommend wearing an additional layer underneath, even just a thin sweatshirt.
Helikon-Tex Tramontane WindPack Jacket - Taiga Green
Constructed from 100% WindPack nylon, the jacket offers exceptional durability against abrasion and tearing. The ultralight, quick-drying fabric delivers excellent wind protection, making it highly effective as an outer layer. Enhanced with a Teflon DWR finish, the material repels water and shields against light rainfall.
Pocket-case, light weight
Featuring a weight of just 120 g, the jacket is highly compressible for minimal storage. Designed with a practical “self-pack” function, it utilizes an integrated inner chest pocket that serves as a compact cover.
YKK zipper, drawstring waist, elastic cuffs
Full-length opening is secured with a YKK zipper. A practical drawstring at the bottom hem, elasticated cuffs, and an adjustable hood efficiently retain warmth. For added protection against cold winds, layering over a warm fleece or sweatshirt is recommended to shield the body from sudden gusts.

- Adjustable hood featuring a laminated visor
- YKK front zipper

First impressions: the jacket is very light, the material is thin, but it doesn't feel as delicate as I expected — which is of course a plus. It compresses tightly into a pocket, but we receive it folded on a cardboard like a shirt, of course in foil. The Tiger Stripe camouflage looks very nice in person, and contrary to expectations it goes well with many things. The jacket is quite long, and the sleeves are not too short either.

The Tramontane jacket fits in a pocket, is lightweight and well-fitted. Very well made, it can withstand light rain and provides thermal comfort on cooler evenings. You can always have it with you – it weighs almost nothing. I'm 183 cm tall and weigh 78 kg, and size M fits perfectly even if I wear something underneath. The Taiga Green color looks amazing in person. Size L would be too big. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

I already have some experience using this windbreaker and overall I am very satisfied with it. It can be folded into its own pocket, it takes up very little space in a bag, in summer I always carry it with me, and in the evenings it has often protected me from a cold gust of wind. It's just a pity that it doesn't have side pockets, because they would be useful. When folded, it wrinkles badly, and after putting it on, it needs quite a lot of time to straighten out. The price is a bit high, but apart from that I have no major complaints.

Size: M
The jacket is excellent against the wind and can also handle lighter rain, although this mainly depends on washing it in a detergent intended for that purpose. The drawstrings and zippers work well. What I miss a little is a light lining; the zipper fastens quite high, which is not very comfortable. The jacket is not stiff, so you can manage with it, but in windy conditions it can be irritating.

Size: L
I already bought a Windrunner here in Alpha Green and had the chance to test this great piece of gear in the forest. When it is windy and you are sitting still, the cold can be really bothersome. Now I have also ordered the Tramontane model in Flecktarn camouflage. When packed, it takes up even less space, although unfortunately it has fewer pockets than the Windrunner. Its advantage, however, is that it can be put on more quickly over regular clothes and immediately provides better camouflage. Size L is right for me at a height of 183 cm, it fits well both over a T-shirt and over a jacket or fleece. There is really nothing more to say about the quality, and shipping from military.eu, as usual, went smoothly — now it only remains to hope that DHL will do its job just as well.

Size: S
I bought it on sale and it turned out to be an excellent choice. It is very light, fits in a pocket without any problem, and it is truly a great windbreaker. I usually wear size M, but I chose S so that it would not fit too loosely, and at 171 cm tall and up to 80 kg, it fits perfectly. It works great for cycling, walks by the sea, windy weather, and cloudy days. The Woodland Panther color looks excellent. If there is another sale, I will gladly buy another one. It is definitely something worth having. You just need to be careful in the forest, where there are many branches, and while smoking. It is also worth following the recommendations on the Helikon tags, then the product will last a long time. Thank you, Militaria.eu, for the opportunity to buy such great things.

Size: XXL
It is very lightweight, so you can always carry it with you; when folded, it takes up little space and even fits in a chest pocket. It works great for running, trail running, cycling, and similar activities.

Size: L
I usually choose size L, so I ordered this size as well, and it fits perfectly over a T-shirt or a long-sleeved shirt. The material is very thin, but it protects well against the wind during activities or keeps you warm when you stop. It takes up very little space and can easily be carried with you just in case.

Size: XXL
Very lightweight jacket, ideal to take with you. I bought it with the intention of keeping it in my fishing bag for frequent Scottish rain. It protects well against wind and provides decent insulation during light rain. It's practically weightless and can be easily folded into its own pocket.

This jacket is a typical outer protective layer for wind and rain, like runners have, except this one is in more tactical colors ;) It is very light and compact.
-
As usual, a great jacket from Helikon-Tex! It's my favorite among windbreakers. Even my wife agreed, so I had to buy another one. I'm 182 cm tall, weigh 77 kg, chest 101 cm – size M fits perfectly! You can easily wear a T-shirt and a shirt underneath it.
-
The jacket does come in camouflage and is great for the shooting range or tactical training, but it's also excellent for the mountains. It provides great protection against wind and light rain.
-
It is lightweight and practical, I took it on an outdoor trip and I am satisfied; it's one of the most comfortable things I've had the chance to wear. The cut is well-fitted, so it can easily be paired with other clothes. I definitely recommend it.

Currently, I use this almost every day in various conditions. I appreciate the lightness and small size. I can definitely recommend the purchase.
