UTP (Urban Tactical Pants) in Desert Night Camo pattern are crafted from premium PolyCotton Stretch Rip-Stop fabric with a weight of 220 g/m2, offering exceptional abrasion and tear resistance. Multiple pockets and a thoughtfully designed layout make this model highly versatile for use in both urban environments and outdoor scenarios.

Durable PolyCotton Stretch material, abrasion-resistant lining and Rip-Stop weave

Crafted from PolyCotton Stretch fabric weighing 220 g/m2, these pants feature a blend of highly breathable cotton (50%), durable polyester (48%), and flexible elastane (2%). The material conforms closely to the body, offers excellent resistance to abrasions and tears, and is both lighter and quicker to dry compared to 100% cotton alternatives.

12 practical pockets and compartments for protective inserts

Equipped with twelve pockets, these pants offer exceptional storage capacity:

  • Two traditional hip pockets feature reinforced edges for enhanced durability
  • Four thigh pockets include two spacious, zippered compartments and two slimmer ones secured with Velcro closures
  • At the rear, you'll find four pockets—two large and two smaller ones situated within the larger pockets
  • Two internal pockets near the groin are designed for carrying a tactical flashlight or an extra magazine

Additionally, internal compartments located at the knee level provide space for protective pads

Wide Velcro for width adjustment, elastic band and loops for accouterments

Wide velcro fastening replaces traditional buttons, offering 6 cm of adjustment. The waistband features a sewn-in elastic band to ensure the trousers conform comfortably to various body shapes. Two front belt loops are fitted with extra loops, ideal for attaching accessories such as a carabiner.

Desert Night Camo (DNC) represents a specialized camouflage pattern engineered by the US Army in the 1980s specifically for nocturnal missions in arid environments. I did buy longer ones and shortened them, but I always do that just in case I need some fabric for patches later on. The summer pants are very functional, big plus for the pockets.     The cut of the trousers is no different from the older version, so they suit me very well. The PolyCotton Stretch version is supposed to be more durable – we’ll see after a few washes. It is definitely more flexible than the older version. With a slight discount or promotion, you can buy them in bulk :)

    Well, unfortunately, Helikon Tex, the company whose UTP pants I have been buying for years (I have many pairs in different colors and camouflages), is now releasing these pants with simply worse workmanship. It's not even about the labels on the recycled gray paper (that's just eco hysteria), but maybe it seems like a detail—however, for me it's very important as it reflects on the whole product and the company. The pockets in these pants are 3 cm shallower. The legs in UTP jeans are also narrower. Pants of this sort aren't skinny jeans for fashion catalog models. People can think what they want, but for me it's a significant downside for this manufacturer.

    Strong, quite flexible, a lot of pockets. I think that's why they're bought and they serve that purpose. The only downside I see is that the openings to the standard pockets are so tight that when sitting or driving, it's almost impossible to get anything out of them. I'm 175cm, 80kg and took size L so it wouldn't pinch.

    I already have these Helikons in other colors, but this camouflage is amazing! It's great that the company decided to introduce it, and I hope they will eventually expand their range of products in this pattern. It's not a classic cargo pants cut and they're more expensive, but it's worth it, at least on promotion. They are more fitted and have more features, but practical ones, like elastic material in the areas that stretch the most or a changed pocket layout. They fit better than classic BDUs but are NOT TIGHT. They don't restrict movement and aren't too wide, yet they're not narrow either.

    I am a fan of classic cargo pants and was a bit hesitant before buying these trousers, but eventually I decided to go for them. The 6 COLORS camouflage played a big part in this—I have always liked it. The trousers are very well made, nice material, they don't restrict movement, and the sizing is good. Pockets in various sizes offer a lot of possibilities. Overall, everything is positive, the trousers are worth their price.
