Crafted from premium 420 stainless steel, both the frame and tools have undergone precise heat treatment to guarantee every part achieves the ideal hardness required for its specific use. The multitool’s arms feature a black DLC coating, renowned for its exceptional scratch resistance, which also shields against corrosion and eliminates unwanted reflections.

The Arc model features FREE technology, integrating magnetic inserts within the arms that keep the tool securely closed when folded. A carefully calibrated magnetic strength and meticulously engineered fit enable smooth one-handed deployment of the multitool.

Exceptionally hard-wearing CPM MagnaCut stainless steel forms the blade of the knife, a rarity in standard multitools. Incorporating this premium-grade steel along with one-handed opening capability positions the Leatherman Arc as a credible substitute for conventional folding knives. Outstanding resistance to wear and corrosion is combined with an ideal balance of toughness in this steel. The blade is hardened to a rating of 60–63 HRC and features a black DLC protective coating. A thumb stud on the blade facilitates easy opening.

CPM MagnaCut is a stainless tool steel developed by Crucible Industries and produced using powder metallurgy (CPM). It is characterized by high strength, high wear resistance, and very good corrosion resistance, despite its relatively low chromium content (10.7%). The steel is comparable to the best tool steels, such as CPM-4V or Vanadis 4E, offering high resistance to cracking and chipping. Thanks to the use of free chromium and carbides formed mainly by vanadium (4%), CPM MagnaCut is less brittle and resistant to abrasion, even with a hardness of 60-64 HRC. In addition, the presence of niobium (2%) and molybdenum (2%) ensures stability at high temperatures, making the steel ideal for harsh working conditions. The composition of CPM MagnaCut also includes 1.15% carbon, which ensures adequate hardness and edge durability, making this steel valued in the manufacture of tools and weapons.

420
420 is a martensitic stainless steel often used in cutlery, especially in kitchen knives, EDC, and budget outdoor models. It is characterized by a relatively low carbon content (0.16-0.25%), which allows for a hardness range of 54-57 HRC, ensuring easy sharpening and resistance to chipping. Chromium (12-14%) provides good corrosion resistance, making the steel suitable for use in humid conditions. Silicon and manganese additives (up to 1%) improve strength and hardenability, while low sulfur and phosphorus content reduce the brittleness of the material. 420 steel is valued for its high corrosion resistance, relatively high impact strength (resistance to cracks and chipping), and low processing costs. Thanks to its ease of machining and polishing, it is popular in the production of low- and mid-range knives.
DLC - Diamond-Like Carbon feature
DLC - Diamond-Like Carbon
DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) is a modern protective coating in which a thin layer of amorphous carbon with a structure similar to diamond is applied to steel. It increases the hardness and abrasion resistance of the blade, protects against corrosion, and reduces friction during cutting. The characteristic matte shade of black or anthracite gives the knife a tactical look and eliminates light reflections, which is important in military and outdoor applications. Thanks to its high scratch resistance, the blade retains its aesthetics and functional properties for longer, which is why the DLC finish is widely used in EDC, field, and tactical knives.

    As you would expect from the Leatherman brand, the build quality is truly excellent; the Arc Talos model gives an even more exclusive impression than the company's other multitools. The tool set in the LM Arc has been very well thought out and includes everything that may be useful on a daily basis. Of course, the Magnacut steel blade deserves special recognition, as it is not only very sharp, but also retains its sharpness for a long time, and when it finally needs resharpening, it can be done without much difficulty. In summary, this is a truly great multitool that is definitely worth its price.

    The Leatherman ARC Talos is a very successful multitool with excellent one-handed operation. So far, I am very satisfied with it. From the very first use, it gives the impression of being an exceptionally solid and practical tool. In my opinion, it is perfectly suited for outdoor use, bushcraft, camping, as well as everyday carry. Particularly noteworthy is the option of convenient one-handed operation. Thanks to the FREE system, using the tools is quick and comfortable. After a short break-in period and adding a small amount of oil to the joints and moving parts, everything works very smoothly. The build quality is at a very high level, and the whole tool gives a sense of durability even under intensive use. The MagnaCut blade and the rich set of features make the ARC Talos a truly versatile tool. If I had to point out a minor drawback, it would be the weight. For a classic EDC, this model is already a bit heavier, although it still remains comfortable to carry on a belt. In outdoor and bushcraft applications, weight is of less importance anyway. I also rate the order itself from Militaria positively: the shipment to Austria arrived exceptionally quickly, in just three days. It was the fastest delivery I have experienced when ordering from this store. To sum up: this is a high-class, very solid and functional multitool that, in my opinion, fully deserves its price. For outdoor use, bushcraft, and also as a quality EDC, I can recommend the ARC Talos without hesitation.

    Damn, I was afraid this was a gadget that screams midlife crisis. On top of that, absurdly expensive — I mean, who even needs this. I have screwdrivers, pliers, and a hammer. I don’t know why I bought it. But after half a year, I’m glad I always have it with me. And if I lost the damn thing somewhere in the woods, I’d order another one immediately. Solid, comfortable, provided you actually have it with you. It has 4 flaws and nothing but advantages. So let’s write about the flaws: 1 - hammer. It’s easy to smash your hand while using it. But it’s there and it works 2 - hammer. While using it, you can lose the bit (I did) 3 - hammer. While using it, you can lose the precision bit (I did) 4 - price. I also have the Signal and, honestly, there’s no comparison — it can’t hold a candle to the Arc.

    You can't go wrong with a Leatherman. Very good built and very useful. The pouch is great. The interchangeable tools that come with it was a pleasant surprise. I had considered buying it in the US than in PL, because of the high price, but here in PL you get those extras which are not included if you buy it in the US, for example. I realized that Arc and other Leatherman are discounted once a year. Wait for the right moment to buy it!

    Great multitool from Leatherman. I am impressed by the build quality and the way the tool opens. This is my flagship, second only to the Wave+ Polish Army. I gave up the bit set and the holster in the silver version, but I think the Talos color makes up for the lack of accessories :) I recommend it!!

    Top-class multitool, the photos do not reflect how solidly it is made. The package was surprisingly heavy, and the tool itself felt very high-quality when taken out of the box. The price is high, but the steel the knife is made from and the pleasure of using it to some extent compensate for it. I recommend it, it's clear that it's a purchase for years to come.
