MultiCam camouflage
MultiCam represents an advanced camouflage pattern, designed in 2002 by the American company Crye Precision in collaboration with the United States Army Soldier Systems Center (Natick Labs) as an element of the Objective Force Warrior initiative. Developed to deliver a highly adaptable camouflage solution effective across diverse landscapes and fluctuating environmental conditions, MultiCam incorporates seven distinct colors, producing seamless gradient shifts among tones of green, brown, and beige. As a result, MultiCam naturally integrates with its surroundings, reflecting greens in wooded terrain and adopting browns and beiges in arid or desert regions—making it particularly effective during autumn and in areas dominated by dry vegetation throughout Central and Eastern Europe. Recognized globally, MultiCam is utilized by numerous military forces and special operations teams. In 2010, the US Army officially selected MultiCam as the standard camouflage pattern for personnel deployed in Afghanistan, replacing the older Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP). Civilian enthusiasts, including military and airsoft hobbyists, also have access to this pattern, which continues to be a preferred option in the tactical community.
