I bought it as a gift in case of emergencies in the car or for trips outdoors, but its size is quite big so it won't work as a pocket essential. The blade is large and opening it with one hand is problematic, it doesn't spring open by itself and takes quite a bit of force to lock in the usable position, so as a rescue knife it probably doesn't fit the bill. From the start, the blade had play at the handle connection. I bought it online and if I had had it in hand earlier, I wouldn't have bought it. This is not my first knife of this type. I don't recommend it. Militaria store, as always, is top notch. Thank you.

A pretty cool knife, fits well in the hand and is very sharp. I bought it as a car knife and that's where it stays. You should remember it's intended as a rescue knife and not use it like an axe.

I ordered three pieces of this model. After the first trip to the forest one of them fell apart during use; the screws from the handle came loose and the pin that locks the blade so it doesn't move vertically broke. In the other two, the sheet metal that locks the blade before closing jams so much that you cannot move it with your finger— you have to pry it with another knife to close the blade. Overall, the knife looks nice and has a durable and sharp blade, but you have to treat it like an egg.
