Monocular Bushnell Legend 10x42 Ultra HD ED - Black

Compact and fully waterproof monocular designed for work in demanding field conditions. Solid construction and the use of durable materials ensure resistance to moisture, dust, and changing weather conditions. The integrated Picatinny rail allows mounting on compatible equipment, such as a helmet or head mount.

The model is equipped with a convenient focus adjustment system operated by a knob on the eyepiece, allowing for quick image adaptation to the user's needs. Additionally, an adjustable eye cup is used to enhance user comfort. Small dimensions and low weight facilitate transport and use of the equipment on the move.

Advanced optical system

The optical system is based on ED glass (Extra-low Dispersion) lenses that provide high resolution and image contrast while effectively reducing chromatic aberration. All air-glass borders are coated with FMC anti-reflective multi-layer coatings (Fully Multi-Coated) and an innovative Ultra Wide Band coating, minimizing light loss and improving image brightness even in low light.

External lens surfaces are protected by a hydrophobic RainGuard coating, facilitating observation in rain and challenging weather conditions. The set is complemented by PC-3 coatings applied to roof prisms, enhancing color fidelity, contrast, and image sharpness.

Waterproof design, rubber coating

The monocular is equipped with an ergonomic, waterproof housing. The external lenses are protected by a hydrophobic RainGuard HD coating, which reduces water droplet and steam deposition, facilitating observation even during rain.

The design meets the Water Proof standard, with the tube filled with dry nitrogen and sealed with O-rings, preventing internal lens fogging and ensuring resistance to dust, precipitation, and short-term immersion. The rubber armor with an ergonomic profile protects the device from impacts and ensures a secure grip, while the built-in Mil-Hash reticle increases the functionality of the monocular.

BaK-4 feature
BaK-4
BaK-4 are high-end prisms made of Barium Crown glass, containing barium oxide. They are used in advanced optics such as binoculars, telescopes and finders, where image quality is crucial. BaK-4 glass is characterized by a high refractive index, resulting in a sharp, bright and well-contrasted image with minimal chromatic aberration. With excellent light transmission, these prisms perform particularly well in low-light conditions.
ED Lenses feature
ED Lenses
ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lenses are optical elements made of low-dispersion glass, used in high-end optical devices. Their main function is to reduce chromatic aberration, which is the splitting of light manifested by colored borders around contrasting objects. With ED lenses, the image is clearer, sharper and has better color reproduction - especially at the edges of the field of view and when observing high-contrast objects.
FMC - Fully MultiCoated feature
FMC - Fully MultiCoated
FMC (Fully MultiCoated) is a technology used in optical devices to apply multi-layer anti-reflective coatings to all lens surfaces in contact with air. This solution effectively reduces reflections and light loss, improving brightness, contrast and image clarity. The increased light transmission translates into a sharper and more detailed image, which is crucial when observing in limited light conditions.
PC-3 feature
PC-3
PC-3 Phase Coating is an advanced phase coating developed by Bushnell and applied to roof prisms in high-end binoculars. Its purpose is to eliminate phase splitting of light that can occur during reflection inside the prism. As a result, the image gains better sharpness, clarity and detail reproduction, and colors remain natural and saturated. PC-3 technology significantly improves image quality, especially in demanding observation conditions such as low light or high background contrast.
RainGuard HD feature
RainGuard HD
RainGuard HD is a hydrophobic protective coating used on Bushnell optics that prevents water, steam, fog and snow from settling on lenses. It creates a microscopic barrier so that droplets do not scatter light and run off the glass surface more easily. The result is a clearer, more transparent image even in harsh weather conditions, significantly improving the comfort and effectiveness of field observation.

I am delighted with the features of this monocular. Thanks to the high magnification, I can see details I used to miss before. I use it both for outdoor observation and at concerts. Definitely worth its price!

    Very good image, well-made monocular.

Very nice glass. Sharp and brightens well in the evening. I tested it on willow leaves with a slight glow from a streetlamp at a distance of about 200 m. The pouch could be a bit better, but overall we’re buying the glass, not the packaging. It has a reticle (the black version does not). In summary, 5/5.

After more than a year of use, I can confirm that the Bushnell monocular is excellent and worth its price!! I use it at the shooting range, it’s always with me and comes in handy!! Although it is a professional and unfortunately expensive device, I RECOMMEND it to everyone!!

A handy monocular built like a tank, waterproof!! The build quality and glass are impressive, unfortunately it also has its price but it’s worth it. Mil-Hash reticle (equivalent of Mil-Dot), focus adjustment with one finger, lens caps/covers included, the body has a loop for a cord, belt clip, tripod thread, and mini Picatinny rail/mount. Sold with a case, the case only has a belt loop, NO MOLLE!! In my opinion, it’s 5/5. I RECOMMEND IT!!

The image seen through the monocular is exceptionally sharp and bright. Near the edges, blurring is visible—about 10% of the field. In monocular rankings, it would definitely be among the leaders. And yes, it's expensive, but good optics have always been valued. It definitely takes up less space than binoculars, but it's way too big to be called pocket-sized. The objective lens cover is fine. The eyepiece cover, however, doesn't stay on at all and often falls off. The actual weight of the monocular itself is 397 grams, and with the case, 494 grams. Probably not for the mountains.

I haven't used this type of equipment before, so it's hard to give a fair assessment, but the quality is very good. The image is very clear and zooms nicely. I don't know how it compares to the price, hence the 4.
