Real Steel Pathfinder PVD Folding Knife - Acrylic

Folding EDC (Every Day Carry) knife equipped with a Drop-Point blade crafted from tough and corrosion-resistant 14C28N stainless steel, known for its exceptional resistance to abrasion, chipping, and rust. Featuring a Scandi Grind, the blade is enhanced with a black PVD coating that delivers a matte finish and minimizes reflections. Designed by the renowned knifemaker Ivan D. Braginets.

14C28N Stainless Steel

Forged from 14C28N stainless steel, the blade excels in corrosion resistance and is straightforward to sharpen, all while retaining exceptional working sharpness. Specifically engineered for knife production, this steel delivers an optimal blend of wear resistance, durability, and edge stability. Thanks to its fine-grained composition, users experience a precise, aggressive cut with excellent control during honing—ideal qualities for both EDC and outdoor scenarios. With high tolerance to moisture and daily use, 14C28N steel guarantees dependable performance across a broad spectrum of tasks.

Drop-Point Blade, Scandi Grind

Constructed with a Full Tang design and featuring a Drop-Point blade shape, the knife is engineered to deliver superior tip strength. This blade profile is ideal for outdoor and EDC use, offering an excellent balance between strong piercing capability and precise blade control. A spine set at a 90-degree angle enables effective use with a ferrocerium fire starter.

Equipped with a Scandi Grind, the blade ensures outstanding cutting performance while retaining notable resistance to chipping. The Blackwash finish reduces reflections and results in a matte appearance. Serrated jimping along the blade’s spine allows for a secure thumb placement, enhancing grip and overall control during cutting tasks.

Easy One-Hand Opening and Safe Usage

Deployment of the knife is facilitated by a double-sided thumb stud, allowing for quick and intuitive use. A Crossbar Lock secures the mechanism, providing reliable blade retention. For enhanced protection, a notch integrated into the handle prevents the user's fingers from slipping onto the edge.

Stainless Steel Handle Scales, Spring Clip

Handle scales are crafted from stainless steel with an acrylic-colored finish. This selected material offers low weight while providing excellent resistance to damage, moisture, temperature fluctuations, and the majority of solvents and acids. The ergonomic contour of the scales, paired with their textured surface, guarantees a secure and stable hold. For convenient carry, a flexible, deep-carry clip (tip-up, right side) enables easy attachment to a belt or pocket edge. A lanyard hole located at the handle’s end allows for threading a cord or safety lanyard.

14C28N feature
14C28N
14C28N is a martensitic "nitro" stainless steel developed by the Swedish company Sandvik (now Alleima). Its chemical composition has been optimized to achieve high hardness through nitrogen (0.11%) rather than carbon, which maintains corrosion resistance and increases edge durability. The carbon content of 0.62% contributes to good cutting properties, while chromium (14%) ensures high resistance to rust and oxidation. After proper heat treatment, the steel achieves a hardness of 55-62 HRC, which provides an optimal balance between sharpness, strength, and corrosion resistance. Thanks to its fine-grained structure and ease of sharpening, 14C28N is a popular choice for the production of kitchen, EDC, hunting, and tactical knives.
Crossbar Lock feature
Crossbar Lock
Crossbar Lock is the general name of the mechanism used after the Benchmade patent expired in 2018. The design works on the same principle as the Axis Lock - a spring bar moves along the handle and locks the blade in the open position. The differences between manufacturers mainly concern the details of workmanship, materials, and the shape of the switches. The lock is double-sided, easy to use, and extremely popular in modern EDC knives. Thanks to its versatility, it has become the standard for many companies.
