Savotta Jaakari M Backpack 30 l - Green

Backpack in green with a capacity of 30 liters, designed for demanding field applications, everyday use, and as a module of a larger equipment. Slim construction, contoured shoulder straps and padded hip belt make it well-suited for longer hikes with a heavier load.

main compartment with flap closure, hydration system compartment

The main compartment is top-closed with a collar and drawstrings. There is a zippered pocket in the flap, which can hold documents, keys, or a phone. On the side of the backpack is a zipper which provides quick access to the interior without opening the flap. Two mesh pockets are placed on the sides of the backpack.

The inner rear wall is equipped with a hydration insert compartment. Two side ports allow routing the tube from the left or right side, as well as passing cables or an antenna.

Velcro panel

On the front of the flap is a velcro panel (hook-and-loop) allowing attachment of any patch or emblem, such as a national flag, unit insignia, or so-called Morale Patches.

MOLLE/PALS straps, compression straps

The MOLLE/PALS system on the sides, flap, and hip belt allows attachment of additional pouches and accessories. Four lower loops allow for attaching a sleeping bag, tent, or other equipment. Side compression straps allow for adjusting the volume of the backpack to the load or attaching additional gear outside.

durable 1000D Cordura

The backpack is made of 1000D Cordura with high resistance to abrasions and tears, with a polyurethane coating on the inside. Straps and stitching of strong polyester meet military standards.

padded shoulder straps, hip belt

Padded S-shaped shoulder straps with a detachable chest strap and a soft hip belt with additional lumbar support ensure comfort under heavy loads. The belt is easily adjustable thanks to a forward pull system and is equipped with a quick-release buckle.

stiffening insert, possibility to add a frame

Inside the compartment near the back, there is a removable plastic stiffening insert, providing even weight distribution and eliminating point pressure on the back. This proprietary back stiffening system, developed by Savotta, allows the Jääkäri M model to replace the factory-added insert with a compatible aluminum frame (to be purchased separately).

PALS (Pouch Attachment Ladder System) is a modular mounting system for pockets and pouches, used in the MOLLE system. It consists of horizontally sewn rows of 1 inch (25.4 mm) wide, fixed spacing webbing (such as on a backpack) and vertical webbing for attachment and threading (on a pocket). This system is usually equipped with snaps, which further secures the pinned items.

    I am somewhat an enthusiast of the Savotta brand, I own nearly their entire range, and recently I have started collecting their older models as well. This backpack works perfectly with their 4L side pockets and, like every Savotta product, stands out with excellent quality. The only thing I miss is the backpack being sold with the frame included – I had to buy it separately; I believe that at this capacity, the frame is absolutely essential and I can't imagine using the backpack without it. I can't wait to use this model for summer camping trips, and so far it works great as a bag for carrying airsoft gear.

    Great quality of workmanship. This is probably the most durable backpack I've ever had. The only downside is the lack of additional pockets and the material is quite stiff. I've been using it for years and it still looks like new.

    An excellent product. It's the top choice when it comes to this type of backpack. The workmanship is of the highest standard, as are the materials used. The design is well thought out and fully practical, with no unnecessary embellishments. In summary, if there is any flaw, it would be the high price, but it is fully justified.
